Onkyo Dp-x1 Help

Hello i am new
I am ready to buy Onkyo dp-x1 Audio player
as My new Audio friend.

I love everything about it, is the Lamborghini of Audio players
in this price range.
Is just one thing that concern me
the headphone jack issue onkyo had on older models.

I am in europe and the shop where they sell it online
sell it for a Good price 600 euro which is very aceptable for this audio player
But my worries goes about headphone jack.

There was 2 models atleast Dp-x1 and Dp-x1a and now there is even Dp-x1a (b)
that fixed headphone jack problem

The shop i go to buy it from have it quite good price 600 euro
and the model is DP-X1-B
This should be the upgraded model with the headphone fix?
from what i heard then it should be 64gb instead of 32gb
but the shop spec state the player has 32Gb
Maybe is the old model, then i stuck with luck
that the headphones are not loose or afected by the audio distortion it have?

What was the fuzz about the audio distortion from headphone jack anyway
does it only afect streaming android audio apps over internet.

For now i will only be using Poweramp and Onkyoplayer app
so i be not be streaming music with my Denon headphones
Maybe i will not encounter the Headphone jack issue
Since i will not stream music though internet apps
the audio jack problem affected this most?
I think poweramp and playing music without internet
and not using Dpx1 as dac (which i not going to do for now only use it outside
then i am fine and not afected by this headphone problem?

i will also only use the 3.5 headphone jack
so if it was the 2.5 headhone jack that was most affected
then i am safer,

I fear the 600 euro is the older models since is cheaper
and is more risk it has the headphone jack issue
Is dificult to get an answer from the shop before buying
they just answer they dont know

But then again there is 15 days return and 2 years warranty in my place.

One more question
Where can i buy Dignis Leather case for Onkyo dpx1
i want the Blue turqouise color that was sold at dignis
but is Sold out

Please take your time reading the welcome thread for new members. There no need to open new threads just for 1 question, imho.
If I can offer any help, I had this player and change it for the Sony nwwm1a. Much better in sonic quality imho. You can find great deals in ebay or even here. And it has 128gb. Cheers

I just want to know if this is the newest onkyo fix that fixed the socked
or the old one that has the problem

 

The onkyo DP X1A is for sale in two online shops in Holland for €435 or so. I’m also looking to get one but with your concern they might be the older model with the 2.5mm jack defect. Did you make a move?

 

I just found that this store is just a Netherlands front page for a shop in Hong Kong, TecoBuy. This actually makes me more confident that I will get the newer model. I have lots of good experiences with HK shops both there and on line. Not so easy here in holland especially with tech items.
Still No luck finding the latest onkyo model #

I dont want Onkyo after what Onkyo have done to me.
Okey My odyssey begin with Online Store Supersonido in spain
Dp-X1 on sale for just €450 euro down from 600.
I asked them Is it Newest model Dp-x1b and asked them for EAN number
Got this answer... Sorry Dp-x1 is discontinued and out of stock we cannot get it.
it was still avaible on webpage so i asked, they say it was a opened one they had on exposition
They clarly told me it was not New , but opened tested and used in exposition

Then i went to another shop Zococity, it cost €800 Dp-x1 i asked if i can buy it for €600
as this was Onkyo recomended price, they gave me a €200 euro discount and say sure.
So i clicked purchase and Next day i got this
Sorry We talked to onkyo Europe Dp-x1 is discontinued and we cannot get it
then they add Discontinued on the website.

Here is the answer from Shop
Acording the factory (onkyo) Dp-x1 is discontinued
However Onkyo Europe have not meantion it
just that is not avaible in spain

I then went to El corte ingles biggest Shopping Mall in spain
Cost €600 click purchase however webpage said 2 week wait time
had to order from provider
I sent an email asked when it will arrive, get No reply.

Waited for 2 Weeks and 3 days before deadline for delivery go out
El corte ingles Shopping Mall come back with this
Sorry we talked to Onkyo Provider We sorry but Is discontinued so we can not get it.
They suggest i go Pioneer XDP-300R, which i said no to them since i wanted onkyo

I went to another spanish store which they had it avaible that shop sold it for €600 euro too
3-5 days delivery, I asked them if i purchase it if they can get it.
Answer i got back very quickly Sorry it has been discontinued

I tried to get back to Supersonido to get the Used Dp-x1
they had on exposition but Somehow it was SOLD out

I asked Onkyo Europe what is up
and here is the answer from Onkyo Pioneer europe
Dp-x1 is not avaible in Spain anymore


So terribly disapointd i am
Onkyo has wasted almost 2 Months of my life
with Nothing they have for sale.
Totaly blown away by this company

I have consider if to import it to another country
but have to pay in advance and can risk get sorry out of stock
then the refund of the money will take time.

It is the worst experience i had with purchase of audio player

Unfortunaly because of Change of Bank
i can not do purchase outside of spain with Bank transaction right now
So i am stuck with what is avaible in spain

I am now looking for an alternative to Onkyo Dp-x1
I have considered Cowon Plenue P2 but is almost twice as expensive
android is not so important any longer for me
