Bought these cheap from Hong Kong about a year ago and thanks to the seller quoting a b/s price I didn't get hit with a 20% import tax:D. As others have said these cans are really comfortable but I have never seen anyone mention the incredible microphonics with these cans and cable. Tap any part of the cans or cable and it's apparent. Maybe I have a rogue pair. Having said this I really like what I hear and after extended use there is no ear ache unlike my Beyer 990s.

I've used these with my new Marantz CD6007. Both are improving dramatically and after only about 20 hours of use. Really, really pleased with both these purchases. The h/amp in the Marantz is so good that I shall be selling my 2 other h/amps.

I've read the mods thread on SBAF but first I need to make a new cable for the Oppos. I'm not going to elaborate on this cable as any cable thread usually disintegrates into a pile of merde.

It came as a real shock just how much extra I'm hearing with the 6007 and Oppo 2. When a CD has been properly mastered the aural difference in presence, extended and multi-layered bass, voice - it's like my head has dissapeared completely. Also when a CD has been mastered badly it's cringe inducing, in other words the combo of the CDP and cans tell it like it is.

My only reservations are that the bass could be 'firmer' at the bottom end and treble could be clearer sometimes. After I've made the new cable it will be easier to see where if any changes in signal path caps and resistors need to be made but first a new cable.
