    Looking forward to more impressions. Trying to decide on the Philharmonitors or a used pair of the original Phils. The new Phils would be more than twice the price. Anyone had a chance to compare the two?

    @uncola

    Are you using the Phils with a sub? I think I might order a pair of BMRs but was wondering how the Phil's bass is fairing for you? I really hate messing with subs and thought the BMR would be good for this but my room may be a bit too small for them.

    My new phils have great bass. I was going to try my sub with them but there's enough bass it seems not worth the effort. My recommendation is get the bmr though. No one ever regretted getting a bigger tv... Or speaker :)

    sierra 2 are closer to the New Philharmonitors. but new phils come in a bigger and curved cabinet with magnetic grills. sierra 2 has nicer looking bamboo instead of mdf. BMR is in an even bigger size league plus 3 drivers and a 3 way crossover.

    Ah, I was confusing the BMR with the Philharmonitors.

    I think I might just suck it up and pay the few extra hundred for the BMR. The Phils are mighty tempting but it would be nice not to have a sub!

    Sierra 2 sounds like poop. I demoed them for a few weeks and found them lacking. I expressed my frustration to Dennis which is when he shared some secrets about the BMR monitor he was developing. That's how I ended up buying the first prototype (well, the first saleable one).

    It's important to note, these passive crossovers do mean you're sacrificing some resolution, but tone is great and I find the staging to be awesome of Dennis' speakers.

    I had a chance to audition the Sierra 2's also and while they seemed to do some things better than my budget Studio 530's, they did other things worse IMO. But after auditioning a few other speakers in a similar price range I feel like the BMRs or Phils might be my last stop before I have to go over 2k. Anyone have other recommendations under 2k? I was thinking just going DIY full-range so I don't mess with crossovers but I might still mess that up.

    ok I moved my sub from my theatre to my 2 channel bedroom setup to use with new phils. It definitely enhances things. So if you need the lows of big full size towers.. I guess new phils need a sub.

    Thinking I might need to grab a new amp as well. My Mini-x has served me just fine but it seems like Emotiva doesn't have the best rep around here...

    Currently looking at the used market and possibly one of those cheap Chinese clone amps.

    Audio circle had a stereo kismet in khartago case for $1200 that I would have bought if I saw it before I got these monoblocks

    I had this integrated chinese amp saved in my aliexpress wish list.. it has a built in preamp, that's more than just a pot, it's a full preamp pcb

    might be good

    I have this power amp which I was happy with until I tried to push the power LED into the case and it made the led die :/ otherwise still working fine
