Just FYI @amichael03 - if you're sharing via imgur on your phone, you are using the "direct image link" and not the JPG, so you're trying to show:

Yeah rookie move on my part, thankfully shouldn't happen again.

And thank you! I really do think the puppy blues part is really important. Honestly, at one point I did not think we made the right decision and we were seriously regretting it. Quickly learned that the unconditional love a dog gives is earned, and they can be little devils as pups, but posts r/puppies helped us realize it was temporary.

I feel like, with all the puppies adopted during covid, a ton of new puppy parents might be going through the same thing, and had to get that in there so that they know.

 

"Doofus" and "The Fat One" About 9 months old, propably sisters.


"Fat One" likes to kick back on the couch watching tv, eating and belly rubs. Literally has half the acceleration speed and reflexes "Doofus" has.



"Doofus"...I guess she is the cat that landed on her head as a kitten. Potential evil genius in disguise.

 

Looks like we're going to be joining the cat club this week. Meet our two new troublemakers. The boy with his eyes squinted is mad, because his mischief was interrupted. The girl on the left is a sweetie who would never cause any problems...ever. I'm sure of it.

 

As a cat owner with many years of experience, I have to tell you that it is the girl on the left you need to worry about, lol. The ones that look the sweetest are usually the most mischievous of the bunch.

She's very shy and timid, but yes. You always have to watch the quiet ones.

The boy is pretty nutty and always getting into trouble, but at least he's obvious about it and easy to spot.

 

Don't be deceived, he is very annoying. I kind of wanna cook him.

 

Bingo was very photogenic when she was young.

 

Mabel had to get a mass removed from her front shoulder today. Poor thing.

I guess that wound is in a safe place that can't be reached by doggy teeth.

 

We threw a t-shirt over her today to keep her from getting curious.

 

It is now 2 years after Blaze's osteosarcoma (bone cancer), treated with amputation and chemotherapy. He has been doing well and goes on walks of over an hour. This is a very successful result. Our previous greyhound also had osteosarcoma and amputation/chemo, and lasted only 7 months when the cancer recurred in his lungs (a common outcome).

He's wearing a bootie because a corn developed on a paw pad. It's an affliction particular to greyhounds that makes walking uncomfortable and could cause limping. There is a simple surgical procedure that is highly effective. We had it done on Blaze and it was a complete success.

UPDATE:

The kittens have been with us 2 weeks now and have adjusted just fine. They and my 5-year old really seem to just GET each other.

The dog, on the other hand, is less certain about it all.

You all nailed it...the "sweet" girl is trouble. Mostly, though, she sends her brother to commit the mischief while she sits behind and watches him fail. I believe she is using him to probe the humans for weaknesses.
