Let me know if you need another motor mount band. I ended getting another one from another source just in case the shipment from the UK got lost.

You and your stupid amounts of kindness.
All I need now is advice on where the counterweight should be.

    1. Screw the counterweight on the arm (moving back and forum) until the arm (with the installed cart) self balances itself. (Don't wreck the needle!)
    2. After the above step, put on the anti-skate weight. Try the most inward notch for least force.
    3. Turn the counterweight to 1.5. If your needle has problems tracking, try 1.6 to 1.7.

Since this has become the defacto TT talk thread, here's a really good video from Michael Fremer on how to set up. An hour long, but good information.

APC UPS so the motor won't suddenly konk out in a power outage.

looks like a higher end Kuzma turntable. Basically, the design is a large high mass platter and spindle pod with separate pods for the arm , the motor, and the speed controller, for better isolation.

    MrTie has it right.

That is a Kuzma Stabi XL with a Kuzma 4 Point arm and Zyx Omega Cartridge. Franc Kuzma (located in Slovenia) is one of the premier manufacturers of high mass style tables and his 4 Point arm is considered among the world's best arms and has been since it's introduction. The thing bottom right is the speed controller, the thing to the left is the belt drive motor.

Kuzma website is here if you want to explore:

This one is using the DC Motor instead of the AC motors. So that makes this a Kuzma Stabi XL DC.

I listen to the XL4 AC motor version many many times every month...one of my best buddy owns it. Great table! Yes, end of life greatness.

In other news, I'm getting a Kuzma 4point tonearm. I've been sick this whole week almost and this is a way to make myself feel better!!

Doctor: Gaurav, I am advising you to take Extra Strength Tylenol 600 mg 3 times a day for you cold and fever.

Gaurav: No thanks Doc, please write a prescription for Kuzma 4P 13 grams with masala chai. There, I already feel better. \/

Any of you have experience comparing the Kuzma 4p tonearm to a SME Series V? The Kuzma looks like it might be a little easier to dial in, at least.

The Kuzma should be superior to the SME V, and easier to setup, plus you get an extra headshell in the deal.

    @shasaida congrats on the 4point!!

Initial thoughts are a sense of extension at both ends, but particularly the treble.

Just completed my SL-1700 MKII rebuild (well, 98% there) and it turned out quite well, totally breathed a new life into this old yet excellent workhorse. Excuse the potato pics
