    Hi,

I am new to this forum. I've already used the search function, but unfortunately I haven't found anything that helps me. So I'll try my luck.

I am looking for a external power supply to power my RPi 4 and Pi2AES 2 separately. Unfortunately, a poe-hat did not work so well. I use the Pi as a network endpoint (naa) for HQPlayer. I use Roon for administration and as gui. The digital AES EBU output serves my two Genelec 8361.

During my research I have only found the Allo Shanti (https://shop.max2play.com/de/allo-shanti-dual-linear-powersupply.html). Do you have any other suggestions? I've also read about a Noise Nuke here. I just need something ready-made with an enclosure.

    Thanks!

you don't really need a high-quality linear supply for the PI itself. If you separate the power, then get a very good 5V linear for just the PI2AES 2.0 you will reap virtually all of the benefits of a dual linear.

finding a low noise single supply is much easier, IFI would probably be a good source.

only one thing to be aware of is that the PI2AES needs to be powered before the PI. This is so that one the PI boots up it can find the PI2AES. So it's not quite as elegant as a dual supply, but you only have to do that when you're first booting up. It's 100% safe to leave them on all the time.
