    The Soerkris R2R DACs accept I2S. Most builds I see use an XMOS or Amanero to produce I2S from USB to interface with the DAC, though I believe that someone clever enough can make a card to interface between the DAC and Pi to transmit the I2S signal.

    While the Soerkris doesn't have the megaburrito filter, you can upload custom filters. Maybe an independently derived version of the closed form filter will be available and can be tested out on the Soerkris DAC one day.

    Let's say I want to directly attach (not interested in NAS) 8TB of storage, is there any way to do that without going USB?
