Shoutout to a person I admired for a long time with his negative reviews. @rhythmdevils
Here he is contributing 12 years ago (see me comparing poorly above in link). Unfortunately pics from meet are dead. Dont remember if we met. Think this was my first meet. Did a couple more then quit hobby because baby.

I just think @rhythmdevils just has to tone down his use of "best" and slightly curb his enthusiasm at times on good products(I get it...very few out of the many). Its like the Monoprice Liquid Gold went directly to the Best SS ever(though it seems to be surplanting its place as the best planar SS amp) to maybe not as good with non-planars. The Yggdrasil Thing, both are great. It’s just odd seeing someone find one suddenly unbearable over the other, due to different strength and weaknesses. The Dunu Zen Pro are great iems, but you can't say its the best audio purchase/iem in the your history, only to think about returning it because of a cheaper, excellent timeless iem comes around shortly after, though it suits your planar preferences.

Just take superlatives/best(golden schlong esque praise) out and call them excellent or great, so it feels less flippant.

I think many find your reviews quite helpful. Hell I bought a Zen Pro and I'm happy with it.

    Don't.

You have to remember that this is thankless job. The folks who appreciate what you do will nod in approval to themselves. The folks who find reason to hate are more than willing to bash the keys on their keyboard to give you their two cents without much thought.

I wrote that diddy a while back showing what in measurements made many IEM people dislike the timbre of BA type drivers. On occasion, I do link things on Reddit. Sometimes people are appreciative. This time they weren't:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/pzxlnn/why_balanced_armature_drivers_suck_distortion/

You will hear one note of appreciation for every one thousand notes of hate. The world has changed a lot during the time you were frozen. Social media has made people into assholes. People don't filter before they type. Discord, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit: they are all toxic in their own special ways. SBAF is toxic too, just slightly less so because we push people out who don't fit in.

Are you referring to the one about the farm? I dont think I ever read. Ill read and report back because it seems it would be beneficial based on your comment. Its not too long is it? :>

I did a few Top 100 all-time runs in my early twenties: movies, albums, and novels. I think the movie list came from rogerebert.com (i miss ebert, the website post-mortem sucks). The music list was from Rolling Stones (I listen to all their top 100 of decade lists). And the novel list I dont remember source because that one was hardest and most time consuming so I would sample the books before commiting, and I skipped a lot. Mostly I remember liking all the Russian authors. I have a terrible memory. Im not smart nor educated enough to properly appreciate the greats.

I was referring to 1984, more specifically the way language was used by the government and other powers that be, dictating by fiat what words were allowed to be used to mean what. They weren't doing it to make sure nobody had their feelings hurt though. Rational inquiry requires a set of agreed upon definitions. Once people can use whatever word they want to mean whatever they want.... well ultimately, it's part of the same thing Crenca was referring to above, so I will shut up now.
