Can we take this to another thread and avoid more noise? - we’re getting off the Aegir topic here due to an incoherent babbler.

    Premature Aegir-ation is embarrassing...

Ok. I see it now. They must have been doing a test.

No. I will not get one... I will hold until I could not resist, and I will get a pair.

I'd like to know the noise floor of this amp. Can I use it with headphones? I have the bottlehead beepre 300B preamp not doing anything and might be a killer setup.

It's probably too far-gone by now but it would be very helpful for users if there was a "M + / M -" for Monoblock operation pertaining to the speaker outputs. I know it's not rocket science but it is nicer to have things more clearly laid out.

Also as an add, it would be helpful for Monoblock users to know a recommendation distance to keep them separated from each other given the heat production and warnings of thermal protection.

    22 db is perfect.

Are we going to get internal pics?

That's what the bold/white circled +/- symbols are next to the top rows of speaker terminals.

Agreed on the monoblock distance, but imagine a few inches is fine given that's how they were used at RMAF (see OP).

Ah, that would be too low for my 2ch, with Saga. I'd be running like 3/4 volume most of the time, after putting resistors into
the Vidar path for the bass.

Guess I save some money :)

Yeah this is going to be borderline for my current speakers I think too, they are super inefficient. I need to figure out how much space on the volume dial my Vidar currently has. Otherwise I may just be adding a Vidar for monoblocks instead of Aegirs. I guess since Aegir is more targeted at higher eff speakers, a lower gain makes sense.

Newb question - would this make Aegir less suitable for bi-amping paired with a Vidar? I want to keep that dream alive, perhaps for a PAP Trio 15 setup.

Yep, I'll get you internal pics today or tomorrow, we've just been a bit busy with other things.

Perfect for running most multi way speakers with tweaked xo
(read: throwing the damping resistor in front into garbage)
to get most out of the mid-tweeter side.
And introduce full terror of Vidar to the bass.

Once I saw the gain was different to Vidar, my mind was set to get zero-Aegir or a pair. This will also avoid any differences in any running change between product batches. Class-A sounds great to me. I tried a friends 25 wpc class A MFET with my speakers, it was powerful, detailed, and musical. The only thing I didn't like was the MFET transistor kind of sound. I find I tend to prefer BLT transistors every time. Life is full of schiit and should be. I am saving up and won't buy any beer nor whiskey until I get a pair of Aegir, LOL.

Throw Sys in front of Vidar. Now you have handy low-to-highs tone control. That's why I do on my bi-amp system.

Eventually. I'm sure it will happen.
