Great, thanks. I hope your support guys are liberal, and can ship out replacements quickly. This is Christmas shopping, so if we have to wait for two-way shipping, it's basically a bust.

Glad you found the problem, though!

What are the specific symptoms on units missing this part?

Just got my Fulla 2. For other Canadians considering purchasing one, it cost around $210 cdn after exchange, taxes, shipping, etc....

LG G4 doesn't recognize it. Guessing it has the missing part issue as my OTG cable works with storage devices, but I'll check with a few other android devices when I get home. Also plan to order a new OTG cable.

Happy I've been following this thread or I would have spent all night trying to figure out why my phone won't recognize Fulla 2. Instead, I can plug it into a laptop and enjoy some music.

@schiit Will you be incorporating this new design (new feet, huge volume knob on top) into your upcoming magni/modi-sized amps? A bigger volume knob would be great. And besides, we already know that amps should be stacked on top so there shouldn't be any problem.

Is there a good reason not to plug my headphones into the variable preamp output? Does it provide less power or would it sound different compared to the headphone jack. Obviously, accidentally plugging headphones into the fixed level output could be bad. I forgot Fulla 2 had a 1/4 jack and only have the KSC-75 at work right now, but wanted to try out my new toy, so I did. Sounded fine, just wondering if there is any reason I shouldn't do this and why.

So, for my latest home improvement project, I shall upgrade my thermostat. More power, less space:

I believe preamp out is unamplified in both cases. So both variable and fixed preamp out are still line level, with the knob acting only to provide attenuation. This line level voltage won't drive a headphone. Edit, at least not well.

OK, got a response from Schiit overnight. They can't ship out replacements until the 19th, making this one a bust for Christmas presents in my case. Shame, will need to return them for a refund, and find an alternative. Anyone else in a similar situation, heads up.

A shame, Fulla 2 sounds quite badass for the money, when it works!

I would be quite happy with a card explaining that my Fulla is on the way, just running late :).

I have had to gift a card explaining the present is delayed by shipping before, still works.

I think they would have found a much larger market doing the best portable dac/amp at 199 than at 99. I don't think you're going to win many non-audiophiles over with that form factor as opposed to the more convenient USB stick and doubling the price/cost would allow them gain more of the mid-fi market.

I disagree. As an audiophile level 30 I can say that I would have bought the Fulla 2 in a heartbeat for $99, had I not already bought my Monoprice Amp/DAC combo (also for about $99). Reason being that while the Fulla 2 is not black, it's smaller and cute. Power specs for a USB powered device are pretty awesome.

Adding on to Gilberto's excellent point: the target market isn't non-audiophiles, it's self identified audiophiles who go online looking for "the best headphones under $X". Invariably they end up on Reddit or wherever and they'll get the recommendation that this awesome sounding product is $99 and it will improve their HD6XX or whatever.

You've never worked in consumer electronics, have you? There has never been a time where your TAM is bigger crossing the $100 threshold. $99 from a behavioral psychology standpoint is hugely different from $109 and a world away from $199. I would posit that they'll sell 5+ times the units at $99 than they would have for an upgraded unit at $199.

I may be in the minority, but I really don't like the "stick"/dongle. I prefer using a cable when I'm connected to a computer and really don't like having a dongle/stick hanging off my phone or tablet. This small but substantial design seems like a good fit for me.

Like any audio product, the Fulla 2 will be made by how it performs. 9 times out 10 with Schitt, that means it's going to punch above it's price.

I have a small usb extender that's about 6" long, that I use with my DragonFly, to ease the potential strain on the port.

Not to mention that dongles sometimes impede with other plugs if the jacks are tightly spaced on the computer/laptop.

In the Schiit thread Jason mentions the big jump in numbers going from the Asgard-sized products to the Magni-sized ones. I think 5x might actually be correct...

Yeah, not a fan of stiff dongles sticking out. I mean last time I had a stiff dongle sticking out I almost got arrested.

Dongles sometimes have very short cables or non at all. With out an extension, the tiny devices may put their weight on the USB port and damage it over time. Or if you put it on the side and accidentally hit the dongle, there goes the port.

I like this solution much better. Plus the volume knob is satisfyingly big.

Going back memory lane when I was audiophile level 3.5, I would proly have bought this over any dongle. Just cuz the knob, and maybe cuz the pre-outs also. And cuz it's 3.5 x 2.5 x 1.375” and can carry it in my pocket or somewheres in my laptop case. And maybe cuz it's got an awesome DAC too.
