Hello from the future! Just getting everything burned in, but so far I'm liking this combo with Pietus. I'm also trying Gungnir 2 straight into Pietus but Kara really brings a muscular character to the sound that at least the SE outputs from G2 aren't giving me.

Edit: Kara's HP output isn't bad, sample size of one headphone, but so far it doesn't hold a candle to Pietus. I'll play around more this weekend and see if I can find other synergies. For now, Gungnir 2 + Kara (active low gain) + Pietus = Mighty Bass Wallop. I approve.

Edit 2: wow, ok, Kara HP out is shockingly good with HD 800 S. That's a winner.

I've had multiple people report to me that Kara > Pietus is awesome. Especially if you are trying to drive one of the older Modhouse Tungstens. Thanks for sharing!

I'm happy to report that the synergy extends far beyond Tungstens! With the DT 1770 Pro OG I swear I feel the bass in my chest. It's awfully fun with the Fostex TH-616 too. There are a few things I haven't liked it with; LCD-GX has been a surprising miss with Pietus in general for instance. In general it's like the MMB2 + Vali 3 synergy but with the refinement cranked up, and most anything that works well on Pietus becomes a slam factory with this combo.
