I have 2 300 ohm sets, and 1 350 ohm set. All sound great to me. I'm old and kinda deaf tho.

I'm a bit nonplussed by the recent spate of MJ3 sales. Is this amp a FOTM? Or is there something else going on?

If it is FOTM then it has been a really long month.

The credenza stack. Too much space on the desk. But if you have desk-adjacent RE, my olde Gungnir Multibit A1 / MJ2 circa 2016 are still kicking it strong. The MJ2 is crazy. I know this is an MJ3 thread, but man how you guys make do without both slam and tubery I will never know.

I think probably more of Schitt's ability to reach customers. The more pieces of kit out in the wild, the more that are likely to come up for sale in the second-hand market. Schitt's gear has always been like that (Yggdrasil's come up for sale very frequently, for example)

Folkvangr had a run of 250 units and you still saw 8+ of them last year on Head-Fi, and I recall seeing one a year on SBAF. Not sure how many MJ3's were made but a lot more, and it's still in production.

I also would hazard a guess that low-run OOP product availability is a vicious circle as the more scarce something is on the used market, the more people might hesitate to sell knowing they probably can't easily buy another. MJ3 is a virtuous circle, you can find another one easily, so you can safely experiment with selling it and see how you feel.

Every time I start to work myself up to selling my FV, I chicken out. There sure ain’t a substitute for the sheer OTLitudiness, and if I sell I’ll probably never get one again. Plus I love my HD800 but now I can’t really stand to listen to them with anything else.

I don't think I could sell either my MJ3 or my MiB. Never. Now I would someday like to add in a great tube amp, but these two pieces are going nowhere.

Yep, exactly what I was alluding to. The Folkvangr is an outlier in Schitt's lineup, usually their gear is plentiful both new and in the used market. I'm thinking there may be cases where the availability and low price points create the psychological urge to see "what else is out there" and that something may be more exotic, but not necessarily better.

FWIW, my own headphone listening exploration took a pause, but they have me sold on the "Class A with chokes" part. I'm pretty sure that's an anomaly among headphone amps, especially at that price point (I love their products with overbuilt power supplies) I don't want to buy it, just to have it sit. It'll be available when I need it.

Hello, I have had the Mjolnir 3 for a while now and it has been excellent with the Hifiman HE1000se. I recently purchased the HE6se V2 and have read limited, mixed reviews/opinions regarding whether or not the Mjolnir 3 is sufficient for the cans. Passion for Sound, in his review, said it could drive the Susvara well, so I would assume it would be enough. Just wondering if anyone has any more knowledge regarding the matter or even first hand experience with the pairing?

MJ3 works just fine with my HE6SE v1 50ohm w/Focus A pads, fed by Ygdrasil GS XLR. Even with pre loudness war 80's music. $400 is quite the bargain and a level up in terms of technical ability than the HE560 v4 I had previous. Although I don't like the HE560 with the Focus A pads, and I DON"T use the stock HE6SE baggy pants cable (too shrill), I bought an excellent value Clairmont XLR cable as recommended by another user here a while ago.
