    If you're even vaguely looking at a new DAC, or want a DAC/amp combo, it's worth your time to audition the dac1541.

    For me, it's been "looking for a reason to BUY DAVE".

    2x Yggdrasil + 1x Gungnir MB + 1x Spring DAC KTE/LTE (all new) = 1x USED DAVE*.

    Not worth it for the 1-2% improvement/difference (subjective) that DAVE offers.

    At this point I'd have to be able to get a used DAVE for about $5,000 ($1,500 than the best offer I've had) to bother. And even then, I'd probably buy an Adagio instead. And then there's the box sitting in my rack which, if/when released, will really put the cat among the pigeons ...

    Haha. I just feel that DAVE is a poor value so I want to move it along. The Yggdrasil just doesn't grab me for whatever reason. I don't feel connected to the music when I've heard one (maybe that sounds stupid, but there you go). DAVE really does suck me in every time.

    I actually consider getting a Gungnir Multibit and a KSA-5 as I strictly use HD800's. I just wonder how much less (if at all) I would enjoy it.
