    Hi, I'm selling my HE-6.

There are several things that need to be said about this particular unit, and why I'm selling it at a rather low price.

It has been used for 3 years, and I am the second owner. It is the 6-screw version, not the early 4-screw version.

According to the first owner, the right driver failed about a year ago and was sent to Hifiman for a driver replacement which cost around $200-300. As far as the sound goes, both channel drivers currently work perfectly without any sonic or channel imbalance issues.

Although there isn't a significantly noticeable scratch on the unit, it does have signs of use over the years here and there. Cosmetically, I would rate it at around 7/10.

Also, this is something I recently noticed, but the right yoke that holds the right earcup in place makes a small clicking sound if its pivots are firmly pressed with my fingers, whereas the left side does not. This doesn't really bother me or affect listening in any way, but I felt I should mention it anyway.

Another thing to note is that on the left earcup, a portion of the thin ring that holds the grill in place seem to come a bit loose (partially) if pulled. This is only noticeable if you decide to intentionally pull off and remove the ring--since some HE-6 owners remove the grills as a "mod" to make the sound better. It won't matter at all if you decide to do this grill-less mod. Otherwise the ring stays where it is.

My HE-6 comes with its leather carrying pouch, not a full-sized cubic container. It has the stock copper balanced 4-pin XLR cable, and stock 4-pin XLR-to-1/4" adapter cable.

Also, I'll throw in a custom 4-pin XLR-to-speakers taps adapter cable (which cost around $150) for many of those who plan to drive the HE-6 with speaker amps.

All in all, I'll sell it for $650, including an aftermarket speaker adapter cable, for half of its original MSRP ($1300).
