sound card by Audio Note UK

Like the modern media, fudging the details.
It's not like Audio Note UK just has the sound card and nothing else and are using the AN name for a quick buck. Let's not forget they make high quality amps and dacs, have they're own components such as resistors, caps, wires, transformers etc. for quite a while.
I've very happy with my UK AN OPTs even if overpriced.

In this hobby smart people ignore marketing since everyone is guilty of overselling and exaggerations. I wouldn't be surprised if they hired some other company to build the card and slapped some of their own caps or components just for LOLs.
This is not a card for us audio junkies any more than a Lamborghini branded laptop is for car enthusiasts.

I think we're not in the same page. I'll re-write my thoughts, so maybe we can agree on something, or at least understand wtf each one is talking about to properly disagree on this.

You don't need to be smart and ignore marketing to know that, after breaking commercial relationships, Peter Qvortrup named his new audio company "Audio Note" and not "Qvortrup Audio", "Tube Notepad" or "Hit me baby one more time". You only need to know how to read properly

I consider such a thing a shady, dishonest practice. Is not ethical, so, personally and speaking for myself, I will never buy an Audio Note UK product, be it a tube amp, a soundcard or a dildo with an embedded Berlusconi picture.

A product with Audio Note parts but made by a 3rd company is a different story, such as, for example, a DNA Stellaris, because is made by a different person who bought that part because he considered that it was the one that gave the right/intended sound for his product. I'm talking about dealing only with Audio Note UK made products.

That's my opinion, it would be much better explained in person with a couple of beers, but it is what it is

I do, is it just me that heard about AN Japan way after AN UK? Kind of makes this argument poitless then as I don't get the hate.
I use the lightbulb even if I feel Edison was a grade A asshole.
