I'm really close to pulling the trigger on a Yggdrasil but I'm also wanting to address the source that will be feeding it. I've read that some at Schiit are fans of SPDIF over USB but with the Gen 3 I think USB might be the best selection. That being said, I've been looking at a new computer build to play my FLAC library from local SSD. How serious a computer should I be looking at - would the high end Paul Pang, CAPS, SOTM type systems be ideal for the Yggdrasil? I'm not too crazy about spending the money on that after buying the Yggdrasil but I will if its worthwhile. Would a new laptop be just as good (at least I could use it for other things as well)? I almost even have half a mind of just picking up an Oppo BDP-103 as a headless transport since it plays from USB drives and has a mobile app - although its limited to SPDIF coax or optical. My current source is a general use PC I built 5 years ago with a Sonar Essence STX sending via SPDIF coax to my DAC. Any thought on sources when it comes to Yggdrasil would be welcome, thanks!

Everything was fine with my mid-level mobo from MSI, a 4790k, and usb to the Yggdrasil. I have a sounblaster ZxR, but the optical from that or the mobo was indistinguishable. I had issues with audio cutting out, a Wyrd has solved that for the most part. I've got an intona on the way to try to isolate things a bit more.
