Nah I didn't measure it yet . I'll do that when the combo come back. Considering how one of the two pads is imperfectly glued , I'm not that surprised ;) . Try to press the Right cup on the measuring rig and the hump should disappear. I think that once on our head, the imbalance disappear as well :) .

That said, your measurements looks like Classic Lambda measurements :) and most of what I posted in the Stax Compendium ( http://www.superbestaudiofriends.or...ket-for-stax-galaxy-the-stax-compendium.1976/ )...including the artifact in the treble and 1 khz emphasis . CSD shoud help to confirm the 8 khz dip is an artifact. I never compare Dynamics and Stats measurements because compared to HD600 the Lambda lookss super dark and we all know it's not the truth.

I love that the first thing people are doing with a loaner is to measure them, Reminds me that I should get REW on my old laptop for ground loop free measuring :)

Imbalance gone when listening. So I made sure that the right cup had a good seal on the rig and measurements confirmed that the hump was gone.
So far I do like what I am hearing. This is my first listening experience with Stax and I was expecting a rather weak low end. But this is not the case. Quite enjoyable to my ears. Highs are quite smooth and clean as well. The 1k elevation does not bother me too much.
Build quality, though! This is some flimsy, squeaky kind of thing.
Might just as well cave in and go for a 3100 set.

    Plastic fantastic!

A lot of people hear a lot of impressions about STAX before they listen, so there tends to be a huge bias about what you're going to hear. I think many people are pleasantly surprised. It may not sway you from the dark side, but it will get you thinking!

Good news @stratocaster . And i can swear you don't hear this SR202 at its best . My SRX+ makes a significant difference compared to the little SRM212 :)

    On its way to @Serious.
Thanks again @sorrodje for this opportunity. Quite enjoyed it. Now I am on the lookout for some nice entry set.

I just had my first taste of stats last weekend at an audio show here in Taiwan (my write up here). I'm not a friend yet, but any chance of these travelling to Asia?

@gixxerwimp : When the EU tour will be close to end , I'll consider to loan the combo to some other friends. Asia and maybe NZ/AUS .

Loaner temporarily suspended. @Serious broke one of the two case holder and we need to fix that. the Stax will go to @Rozenberg after we fixed it.

Comparative measurement of SR-202 and SR-303:
Seemed to get a good seal for both on my measurement rig.

    Green is 202 - red is 303:
    202_vs_303.png

Inspired by @Serious I tried to experiment with some pad options on the 303 in order to reduce the 1.5k hump...

    Yellow is the HM5 pad:

    Blue is the HD800pad:
    HD800pads.png

There might be quite some room for improvement with other pads and/or mounting systems.

Wow, what a slow shipping. Is that called a snail post?

Unfortunately i need to switch the order with @Priidik in the list, put him first to receive the package in Estonia.
I am in vacation (out of the city) between 30.01-13.02, so i cannot receive it. I will pick it up later @Priidik place.

It took 6 days for the parcel to leave France and 6 more days to find @Rozenberg... :drunk:

Seems I'm kinda voodooized for shipments lately  .
