    I've always kind of liked it the way it is... But, I could see if we add more and more stuff, it could get cumbersome.

    Does anything ever drop from the leaderboard? Has there ever been a FOTM that sneaks on there?

    Yes, stuff has dropped from the Leaderboard. Not doing anything until better more formalized process is developed. I see the process to be more like HoF balloting.

    Not doing speakers for now. Need critical mass of interest, experience, and measurements before that.

    Things change. I think the list has been free from FOTM. Barring a few stuff that I think is undeserved, but the list isn't going to suit everyone's preferences.

    As a general use pair of headphones around the computer, around the house kind, do you think the Sony MA900 is a good pair of headphones for $200 CAD brand new? That's around $155 USD.

    I saw it on the discontinued product list of the Leaderboard, and could only find a couple of reviews elsewhere and Marv's praise on Changstar.

    MA900 is awesome. I still own it and it sits near my computer. Think of it as an HD600 lite with deeper and more open sound.

    Motion to amend the motion...     Make the Leader board into a subforum, with separate threads for the different kinds of equipment.

    Make the Leader board subforum itself read-only, so that people can only contribute to threads, not create new ones. Mods create new ones as and when a new kind of equipment gets accepted to be covered.

    Maybe a subgroup rank which allows for voting rights. Applicants must write a short essay on why they are deserving of a vote.

    For gear, 67% is required for leaderboard with *. 75% gets full leader board status.

    The separate thread can contain both sides' arguments pro con of a gear candidate. Also should have possibility of a * conditional recommendation, but 67% is still required.

    No criteria for nominations. Leaderboard status would be purely based on 2/3+ vote. Just a proposal because it kind of has been like this already.

    Or you may simply be invited to the "Academy" under mysterious circumstances. Voting will remain anonymous. However, arguments and pleas for and against gear being on the Leaderboard must be public. There is NO requirement for Academy members to make statements.

    I hope SBAF stays perpetually free from paid/bought w "samples" or by sponsors reviews. I have visited the leaderboard thread on chaingstar soooo many times; the hobby needs this leaderboard. Its refreshing.

    I wonder if we could crowdfund purchases of new products (even budget stuff) and the Acadamy all gets time to review and vote on it. Of course, I'm fine others want to buy them and share reviews too! But there is that weird effect of having to love what you spend your own money on. Meet impressions are cool, too. I just want honesty; i love that about this forum.

    Another thought: the Academy should yearly vote whether anything should be removed. Why keep it on if another product at the same price point has made it obsolete?

    Ha-ha. Yeah, not so much of a democracy or even republic. We've moved from pyrate democracy to semi-secret society moose hat club.

    Need to avoid everything being 4.5 or 5 stars and making leaderboard like on HF. SBAF will never be a feel good society.
