U fuckin what M8? I can't possibly listen on that low volume, can I?
On no amp I've ever used with the 560 I used to own I cranked it up above 9 o'clock. That includes amps that top out with just about 1 watt into 35 ohms.

IDK, maybe I'm the insane one. For what it's worth I was never a fan of smooth sounding amps paired with the 560. I thought the attack and aggressive sound they produced was the highlight of the headphone.

Well, you must prefer to listen quite a bit louder than I do.

Did you like the Lyr 2 with the 560? Try it with anything else?

Full power, Lyr puts 124 dB out of the 560. So, you're pumping something like 110 dB into your brain. Are the drivers smacking against your ears?

I make no judgements against people who like to crank it up.

I'm hoping that he must have some sort of digital volume control or pre-amp turned down..

Good lord, you people are easily distracted.

560 amp recomendations still welcome. I suppose I should mention, I'm using a Magni 2U at the moment.

On the cheaper end of things: Project Ember is a good match for 560, depending on the tube. Just ask the guys at Garage1217 to recommend sth to tame the highs.

    This is good, thanks.

Can anyone comment on the Gustard H10? Seems some people think it is particularly good for the 560 as well. Though I would just as soon save up for a Mjolnir 2 if it's a good match.

HE-560 is too good for H10. H10 is a solid headamp, but nothing special. Sounds OK. No solid-state sizzly shit, but kind of flat, boring, and actually veiled and slow for SS amp. It should be priced at $229 or less. Cheap opamps, transistor buffer, made with cheap labor. I don't know how Gustard were able to get people to pay so much for it.

The Bill-P modded HE-560 were my favorite at CanJam from the EC Studio that day. But let's not talk about unobtainium amps.

Ember, Lyr2, Mojo2... the usual suspects are probably best. I would tend toward Mojo. Circlotron goodness and 8W into the 33 ohms. More power always sounds better.

For 560 I'd go Gungnir Multibit + copperhead

I was wondering if what I'd heard about the H10 was nothing more than le hypetrain arriving at exaggeration central.

Mojo 2 works for me. Should stack with that one DAC that everyone likes pretty well.

As you can tell from my sig, I'm running the 560 from the Gungnir Multibit->carbon. No probs with it, but I'm a bit more forgiving of things than others. I'm sure at the OC meet, others will hear this and give their takes.

The Mjolnir 2 would be a high priority on my list for the 560. I am quite familiar with the 560 via Lyr and can only imagine what the Mjolnir 2 would sound like. It seems to be built for planars, in particular, with a more "neutral", leaner sound signature, such as the 560s or Ether.

What's your guys' take on the Black Cube Linear ? Been searching around for impressions, but haven't found anything and I was curious about its price/performance ratio. Would you consider it something worth mentioning until reaching the 1000$ point?
