    I'm due to fly down to Melbourne and Sydney in a few months. Maybe I can bring some with me and give it to someone there who can cut up the pieces and distribute?

    Hi purrin. I don't have access to laser cutter etc, but I should be able to use small sharp scissors to cut them up and send to our friends here. I'm in Melbourne btw.

    Certainly no need for a laser cutter - if that has been mentioned it was likely a joke. Any decent scissor will work fine, a used a not particularly sharp kitchen pair.

    Hogwash. You absolutely must to use a laser cutter. A red laser really brings out the mids, if you want a more neutral sound try a blue laser. :bird:

    Hi @JoshMorr,
    I'd take a pair if you have one left. I made one with the previous material you had, and while that worked, am curious to see how they sound with the denser liner. Thanks in advance.

    Just cut a set out and put in my hd800. I'm using it with a French mod installed, too. Overall improvement I think, but I need some more time with it, particularly to evaluate soundstaging and and some FR changes.

    Hey everyone

    Does anyone in Europe possess the material for the mod? As mentioned here before shipping to Europe is 99$, which is a lot. Would be very happy if anyone knew how to get the material or has some spare material at home :)
    Btw, love what you guys are doing! It's really cool to mod a headphone, save some money and have lots of fun experimenting with the sound!

    @AudioDroid

    Ask our member Nanekiu very, very nicely and be prepared to pay something. He might have some.

    Thank you for your help, I just texted him. Let's hope I asked nicely enough.

    Btw I think I just tried to buy a stock HD800 cable from you over at head-fi :) m0nster

    @AudioDroid

    Haha, so you did :D

    I don't need it but I have it up for sale in case someone has a cat for instance... they chew everything in sight and love cables. The more expensive the better.

    @TwoEars

    Well, I do not have a cat. Just buying a used HD800 without the cables. So I will kinda need one of those earlier or later.

    At least I am sure that my cat won't eat them. :-D

    As @Riotvan mentioned I imported this thanks to @jacq. If you want shoot me a PM with your address. Shipping is quite easy and not overly expensive from the Netherlands.

    Mod installed yesterday, my pair is getting pretty tricked out now.... hardwired, SD mod, superBAF.... |{

    Big shoutout to @Nanekiu who sent me some material which he had bought! Thanks buddy!

    I removed all my EQ and listened for a day like that before installing the mod in order to make as fair an assesement as I could of before and after.

    I have to say though I'm not sure these before and after impressions are that accurate since I think too much time passes between listening sessions, the mod takes a while to install and the mind plays tricks on you. But anyway this is what I heard.

    It's still a bright headphone, the upper midrange is still a bit recessed, the treble spike is still there. No suprises there, all as expected. But then I also thought that while the treble was still bright there was less "ringing in it", it's a bit less harsh. Maybe a bit less etchy. It's still bright but it's a bit calmer. It draws less attention to itself maybe.

    A little bit of that HD800 magic with the super big soundstage might be gone and the headphone feels a little bit darker, some might have issues with this but for my tastes it's definitely a move in the right direction.

    I'm going to continue listening for a while without EQ and re-calibrate my brain a bit. But I think SD-mod + superBAF probably is the darkest I've ever heard the HD800 without EQ. It's still a bright headphone but comparatively speaking.

    For my tastes I think I still might use a little bit of EQ to bring up the upper midrange before the 6kHz peak and to give it of bass boost. But I might not go as heavy with the EQ as I've done before. These headphones are definitely getting pretty darn good as it is.

    Many thanks to @zerodeefex for proving such an awesome mod to the community!

    I'd like to hear more subjective impressions since I don't really trust my own yet. But what I think I'm hearing I definitely like, I think I like my HD800's darker than most so SD mod + superBAF seems to be the way to go for me.

    @TwoEars: If you want more upper mids, try it without the black plastic ring that sits under the pad. I shit you not. Tape them to the black plastic using a double sided tape strip. Completely removing it will probably even make it too forward.

    @Serious You're right... I think you are shitting me. Haha. Maybe I'll try it, maybe. But thanks for the tip! :)

    (No chance of a FR graph right? No one has tested this?)
