Doh! I'm stupid. lol. Or else I could only wonder at the unlikely breasts.

(Whilst loving his songs, I did not love his voice. In the days of longer attention spans, when we mostly listened to full albums, I went for a long walk when I saw a housemate taking a Dylan double album from the pile)

 

Yeah, I was sure you had all the puzzle pieces and just needed a gentle nudge to connect them!

It feels heretical, on some level, but I don't either. Both Dylan and Tom Waits are glorious songwriters but can be what the late great Sean Lock might call "a challenging wank", to listen to. That said, their songs form part of the great American songbook without a doubt and can be transporting- when performed by others (paging Mr Hendrix and Ms Amos).

 

I actually like Tom Waits: I love the way that he conjures the dark atmospheres of the stories he sings.

This isn't getting on the track of something funny!

 

Oh, he's incredibly talented- he's also a very entertaining actor occasionally. I am peculiar (please try to look surprised), I really like him, but tend to avoid what he's most famous for. What's he building in there, anyway?
