Yup. The measurements I've seen are as flat to Harman target as I've seen.

I suspect a spike with the 10kHz null in the Amir graphs. Deep narrow nulls are often spikes. Measurement oddities. It's common in headphone measurements and occasionally seen with speakers, more often with anything that is horn loaded. Amir is noob, and he won't investigate further.

Maybe DCA shipped beta material instead of meta. Get some doggie treats when you order in a few months.

    0) Beats by Dre
For your inner sophomore with an aftermarket sub in his Civic. Basically, AXE body spray for your ears.

    1) Ultrasone 750
The metal EMF shield between the driver and your ear is probably the cause of the most metallic highs ever. I once mentioned to Tyll I once owned a pair and he stuck his finger in his throat and made a hurling noise. That's a concise review for just about anything Ultrasone.

    2) Early prod LCD-XC
They fucked up the damping. Lifeless and muffled. Admittedly defective.

    3) Current prod LCD-2
Huge upper-mid suck out, like if you tried to EQ the Audeze house sound onto an Audeze headphone. I have to believe this was AudezeVariation™ + new skinny earpads.

    4) HD820
Horrible artificial timbre, probably due to that damn fishbowl they stuck in there.

    5) Meze Empyrean
Excessively laidback and lacking in plankton. Maybe needs the right synergy, but for the price, it aught to be better.

Interesting thread. I do not like most headphones enough to justify buying them. In particular, I'm not into Audeze's besides LCD-4z, which is nice, but still expensive. Still, I understand the people who like LCD-2,3,4.
There is a lot of cheap crap out there, but expensive crap is what is most interesting for me. So my list consists of top of the "crap per $".

So far, the absolute worst headphone that I care to remember is LCD-24. For its price, I found it is a total shit that I was able to listen for several minutes before running away horrified. Extremely sibilant, and just it, I can't remember anything else, because it was just impossible to focus on something besides the sibilance shrill. I just can't imagine how anybody can get any pleasure listening to it.

Speaking of IEMs, I can mention JH Layla. Just a one large muddy boombox even with on-cable control set to a minimum bass.I listened it next to IER-Z1R which was mentioned here earlier, and while it was shitty as well, Layla was even worse.

I remember the Chinese company booth at IFA 2014 where they were presenting those headphones. We were interested in picking up worthwhile Chinese stuff at a time, so listened to them, and it was awful. Then I wondered under what brand I will see these headphones appear on the market, and at what price, lol.
