We were made aware of the following today:

"Rex Aeterna AKA David passed away last night at 6:57PM. He will forever be missed by his father, 3 brothers and his wife, Julia."

My most sincere condolences to David and David's family. David was a good and sincere friend. He was full of joy in his heart and fun to be around. It was always refreshing to read his posts.

We will miss you very much David.

Here is one of David's threads back in CS:

I just signed up to this forum at Davids family's request to let you know a dear friend of ours has passed. The following is the post I made earlier today over at AK.

With deep sadness I regret to inform the board that we lost a very young member overnight. David had been fighting a battle with a rare form of cancer and was on his last chemo treatment. With no defense left in his body an infection set in and despite all efforts of the doctors and his fighting spirit he never made it through. I received a text message from his girlfriend this morning informing me. She has been by his side for weeks and has kept me constantly informed. Due to a mild cold I dared not visit.

I became friends with David through this board when I saw that he lived just a few miles from me and I contacted him. We immediately struck up a friendship and he infected me with the love of all things Altec. I was mildly surprised that a young man of only 27 years of age was into vintage horns and large bass cabinets. No tiny tinny speakers here! He loved a variety of music and music was his passion, the gear just let him enjoy it.
I'll never forget the day he did a frequency sweep on a set of horns. At 10KHz I looked at him and said "I'm Out". As I watched the laptop climb to 20K he finally said "it just stopped". I was amazed!
As arraignments are made, I'll keep the board informed.
It's so sad to see a young man with so much potential taken away from us, makes all my problems seem trivial in comparison.
God speed David, we will all miss you.

I see that someone has already posted about this but just wanted to include this as well. He will be sorely missed.

Nooo... I missed Rex when he was away for periods of time.

Sansui 5000 and other vintage receivers, he seemed like he was pretty happy with his gear and came to mostly just hang out with us.

He was a friendly, good character and he was missed when he was away...will be missed from now on.

@BillWojo Thank you for letting us know.

f**k, he was a thoroughly nice person, that's a real shame. I'm sure that everyone who ran across him will miss him for their own reasons.

Those Awiens had better take good care of him. RIP, David.

I had no idea he was fighting cancer all this time, only at the age of 29.
    Rest in peace, King Eternal.

What did Dave like drinking? I usually like to have their favorite drink in honor of those that have recently passed.

Otherwise I'll go with the usual whisky.
