*In my experience, DDCs make a real difference. I used SPDIF converters for years and wasn't sure a DDC would be an upgrade. Well, it is.

Bamboo Audeze LCD-2 for $400 on Head-Fi. Not sure when it was manufactured, though.

 

This headphone has the latest cable input configuration as well as fazers, so it's not an oldie. But the price is crazy low. Perhaps it has driver issues (not uncommon w/LCDs)...but it could be perfect.

This seller has been on Head-Fi since 2017 but has only 17 posts; also just one "classified feedback" (from 2017).

None of this really adds up for me. But it could be on the up and up. No real way to tell.

 

Well its sold so hopefully it was legit. I was tempted but its almost a too good to be true kind of deal.

I am just going to say it - I don't feel comfortable essentially sending money ( with no protection at all in any form or way) to someone on usaudiomart, regardless of their feedback. I think its somewhat different on SBAF where people have been around, and you know that people will work with you if something goes wrong. Maybe I am naive, but I have let several items go by because of this reason. The IRS rules which triggered this avalanche of Zelle payments have already been held off, so there is even less reason in my mind to accept this.

 

Ever since the talk about the IRS potentially taxing proceeds of G&S transactions on Paypal, there has been a big increase in sellers demanding payment strictly by PP's F&F option (or personal check). Some of this is no doubt due to ignorance, of course not helped by the repeated postponements of IRS' actions in this regard; also ignorance of the fact that most of us who sell things are actually losing money on the transaction, so that documenting that we paid more than we sold for erases the possibility of taxable proceeds.

But some of this new obsession w/F&F is just stubborn greediness. I've walked away from at least 3 deals in the last 18 months, following long email/PM conversations with the seller (whose items were priced >$1K) explaining that I would never buy any expensive F.S. item from them without the transaction being protected either by PP or credit card--their feedback on USAM or HF doesn't matter to me at all, since they could still choose me to be the first buyer they f**k over. These sellers knew they were in the wrong to expect this from a stranger, but persisted, so I walked.

I've concluded that some of these sellers were running scams, but most are just greedy shitheads trying to save themselves PP fees and feeling entitled while doing so.

PS: I sell things all the time. I accept PP's G&S and routinely include shipping (and price my stuff accordingly).
