I feel like I've got mine modded to where I want them. I have unobtanium J$ leather Beyer pads, "angel hair" aramid fiber pillows for front damping, made my own rear grills and stocking dust covers, no blue tack but I do have some inner cup foam linings on the back, and a variant of the fuzzor mod on the front before fuzzor was even a thing.
I have the Benchmark AHB2 as amp. Really don't see much upgrade potential from here that doesn't get stupid expensive or eats up more desk real estate. The only thing I'd consider here is another dac. Right now I have the Prism Lyra which I really like (and I do use the recording capabilities), except I have driver issues with my new laptop that I haven't been able to fully resolve.

 

Damn. I'd love to see some pics of the mods.

You can see the pads and some of the felt/nylon in the 8th picture. I don't have a pic of the "angel hair" pillow though, but that was sandwiched between the felt and nylon. All stock felt and foams removed. New grills+nylons on the back, plus in the inner surface of the shell behind the driver I have a few strips of acoustic foam circling around.

Yep, even for a V1, board and transistors would come close to $200.

As an aside, I did a tally of parts cost for my most recent PASS build (excluding shipping to get it all delivered from far too many sources) it was $1300

So even though I really don't need that F5, if I lived within driving distance, it would have been snapped up.
