You could still see if there's a way to further reduce the THD before production, as long as it doesn't involve changing the cup and mould etc, like stronger magnets or something. Maybe the tensioning process can be done better... I don't know how any of this works

 

Those are the ones I'm going for, that way every time I look at them, I'll think of @Elnrik and have a good laugh!

 

This is in stock configuration, correct? I'd be curious to see how your tweak looked on this measurement system. (1 felt sheet removed IIRC)

 

I guess that every DIYer want to create the_best_thing_in_the_world, holy grail. And I'm not an exception. But sometimes you need to say to yourself stop and call it a day. Fortunately it took me 2 years, not 20 lol.

 

What's the max power handling on these?

 

I never measured. Imo max spl is more interesting digit. And this "max power" parameter is often speculated. Power on 1 khz? On 20 hz? Power on white\pink noise? It would be absolutely different digits.

 

Well do you know the max SPL?

 

I have this problem too. I'm mixing my band's EP, and it's ended up taking forever for no good reason. I'm just too critical.

 

@purr1n can you quickly explain the percentages on the left hand side of your distortion graphs? I don't get the two sets of percentages. Also, how does this tcompare to the old "magnitude vs distortion" graphs you have been posting before?

Are you thinking that the 1's and 0.5's are separate scales? They are all the same.

I won't wait till the end of Kickstarter and will start some preparations for mass production tomorrow. Some units aren't expensive yet will be produced during big amount of time.
If it is interesting I can make photos\videos of those preparations and first steps of bringing new headphones to market.

 

I, for one, am very interested in the process. Photos/Videos would be really nice. Share the journey with us.
