It's obvious that the methods need to change in the long run, but I can appreciate not wanting to update it until he's absolutely certain it'll be the way he wants it to be. Right now he's working to get all the headphones made and shipped, rather than spending more and more time trying to simplify and automate the process. That's for the future production.

No way, lol. Most all of us have thoroughly enjoyed the updates as they are. Please do not change that for a small margin who may think otherwise.

I'm pretty sure @schiit's first few hundred units were assembled in a garage.

A word of advice: be sure that the robots that you get later on have Terminator capabilities to protect your factory. The T800 series is pretty good.

We absolutely want to know. And many of us do not think that it is a good idea to start a business with lots of debt, even if that means flashy machines in a modern workshop. Yep, I know that is a bit of a schitty attitude! But it worked for Jason and Mike, and I believe that, with the unfortunately-necessary little bit of luck as well as the good management, it will work for you.

Keep up the good work. Upgrade to Tupperware only when the time is right.

    :D

@Garuspik has the right idea here. Deliver the product that people paid for first, worry about the rest later.

Seems to me like the Kickstarters that fail (Ossic X for example) spend all the money on advertising, hiring a huge team for additional r&d because the product doesn't actually exist yet, or building some wild factory for production instead of actually delivering what was promised, counting on additional campaigns to make up the difference, or carrying massive debt until they go mainstream. As we saw with Ossic in particular this failed spectacularly.

Sure I have plans to continue, but now I'm focused on manufacturing what has been promised.

But they need those kilobuck desk chairs, the best equipment possible.

Usually the wild factory stuff is he biggest issue, they spend too much trying to buy the "best" straight away in this attempt to future proof and just don't manage their cashflow at all.

It's like some wannabe producers buying the best gear possible and then not getting bigger than some SoundCloud techno.

There's a reason why the cheaper options exist, best to humble yourself and make it work.

We all saw what happened to lhlabs

The reason they do that is because they're fronting. Its the same reason why Jude spent $20,000 on a measurement device he barely knows how to use, a lot of people take people a lot more seriously if they've got really expensive gear. Its also why you get people on websites like Head-Fi dismissing measurements from third party hobbyists because "their equipment isn't good enough".

I know a few photographers who use really expensive camera bodies even though they don't need them for half the work they do. People take them a lot more seriously if they come to the job with a Canon 1D instead of a Canon 5D. In reality, there's a lot more to photography than just a camera body and a lot of people aren't going to notice a difference between a product shot with a 5D or 1D.

Very interesting insight after my posting some thoughts about @Garuspik's priorities. It seems he was making the right choices all along, I guess I have to admit I might have beed wrong. Thank you for the reasonable arguments exposed here.

If you know it's off topic and not even funny enough to warrant a post, keep the noise to yourself. It's not every day a MOT gives a dislike to his own customer.

    Question-
In the first pic where you're holding the Zebrano, it's quite a reddish tone, whereas in the last pic next to the Bobinga, it loses that tone and shifts to greenish. Are those in different lighting conditions (tungsten in the first, fluorescent in the last)? Does the Zebrano have reddish hue, or is it more of just brown?

They all look awesome. I'm afraid you're gonna be hurting my wallet, that is if you have more than the backer supply on hand.

Zebrano is only on one photo that says "Zebrono". It has brown and a little bit reddish tone. That greenish one was just an experiment.

Thanks. Let's wait for reviews of the first owners ;) I'm gonna ship at least 100 units till the end of January. A little bit slow with painting, hard to teach other people how to do everything right :D

The woods look so much better than carbon now. Is it too late to change color choice? Just complaining. You're doing a great job on production.

@Ash1412 i’ll make better photos of carbon and you’ll like it again. Believe me, carbon texture in real life also looks good.

It is a lot harder to choose the cup than the grill. The zebrano turns out better looking than expected. So does the carbon.

    Great job @Garuspik
