The only problem was in first batches is bad contact inside. I use German made sockets and their quality is very decent. Some connectors on cables were really out of specs and we're a bit loose in sockets.

That's great, but better not make it a precedent for future models, or you will be buried under a mountain of no-profit upgrades.

Sure, but, to some extent, it is an experience that we just have to live with.

Verum 1 is the first headphones of a DIY-er that never previously made headphones. (I'm mostly a speaker guy). So some problems at the beginning and upgrades are outcome of my lack of experience. And I'm very thankful to community that you endure all of this :D So why not make everyone happy? I'll get some tools for future headbands, those who want will get inexpensive upgrade (Again! upgrade will not change anything in sound).

Let's change that experience a bit :punk:

So since you a speaker guy, when can we have Verum's Röst (swedish for voice) aka Verum speakers? |\/|

Joking, keep up the good work.

Hey @Garuspik what made you decide on planar drivers over dynamics for Verum 1 and 2? Cheaper to manufacture or low investment needed to design planar headphones? Curious why you went the direction you did since you came from the speaker world. If you already discussed this elsewhere, apologies! I didn't see any background/history on your site but I find it interesting to read how engineers approach the design of their stuff, even if I don't understand the technical details.

@treboR - planar drivers are much more expensive to make then Dynamics. Yes, I came from a speakerland but why you think that in my speakers are pure dynamic transducers?)
I wanted to say a new word in a headphones world with my own driver and while I can make almost any type of transducers: planar magnetics, heil, estat, dynamic I've chosen planar magnetic technology cause it's the only type of planars that don't require special amp.

I'm thinking about making top-performing table speakers. But headphones first!

    Thank you for responding.

BTW sorry for the confusion, I didn't think your speakers are pure dynamic transducers. What I meant to say is I was more or less interested in how someone who designed speakers approached headphone design and why you chose planar drivers over dynamic, estat, etc. But you answered that.

Good luck with your Verum 2 development. I have been following your updates and I'm super curious how the ring magnets sound. I plan on purchasing a pair when they release.

In simple words - what is transducer? It is something that move air. It need to be very responsive for incoming signal. In other words - high acceleration and good brakes :D
It's definitely some sort of planar because of it's lightweight moving part and simultaneously moving surface.
In conventional planar designs (with bar magnets) that force is not even across the surface. All manufacturers know about it and it's the key problem. That's why almost all planar headphones has more or less recessed mids in 3-7k region.
Audeze tried to solve it with their UniforceTm technology but .... :D

To solve this problem with planar technology there're 3 ways:

    1. Electrostatic driver - 100% solution + a thousand of other problems.
    2. Heil transducer - nope, i don't want headphones to require additional transformator.
    3. Ring magnets - almost a solution. Let's call it 90% of a solution.

Has anyone heard Final D8000 or old Yamaha's ?

@Garuspik I'm trying out your perforated lambskin. It is more on linear and neutral side, with smaller head stage.

Would you be able to make a second more-angled variant? Exactly like this one, but with thicker backside. I am thinking the more angled one will provide another good flavor for your Verum One. Deeper staging, more bass, and slightly U-shaped.

I think these 2 types of pads would perfectly complement the Verum One. Fun vs neutral. And we can forget about the original solid pads that came with my Verum One.

The beta perforateds actually did have more angling. It ends up breaking the seal a little bit and dropping the bass though, but it does have the best staging and smoothest treble. The solid pads I agree just don't hold up to either in the upper range, maybe good when running them underpowered with phones or something.

FWIW, I am using ZMF perforated lambskin and it checks those boxes and fits very well. Affordable and no waiting.

That was a part of the quest to neytrality ;)

Only with thicker backside? Same opening, perforation and fron side?

Dimensions of my pads and ZMF Ori are very close.

I have the perforated Ori and perforated Universe. Both work/fit very well.

I prefer the more subtle angling of the Universe with the Verum.

If anyone wants photos of either, let me know. Easy enough to swap when I get home.

And it was a success. I will use this when I'm feeling neutral. I'm thinking of a fun sidekick :)

I dont see perforation or opening need to change. This one seems good.

Don't like posting things like this on threads but you wont return my emails. Your website is saying 2 weeks shipping. You haven't updated by saying theres a delay. I would understand if you mentioned 6 weeks, 6 months as long as it was said on your website.

I've emailed you 3 times without a reply. I'd rather you just refund me because the lack of contact and delay. Its been over 2 months now since my order. I'd rather you just refund me because it doesnt fill me with any confidence. Please shoot me an email back when you read this.
