The folks behind Bastion and Transistor have come out with a new goody. Their soundtracks are always truly beautiful, and the trailer has me pumped to say the least.

I really like the second ones OST. (best AC IMO up to Black Flag, haven't played Syndicate though)

Just discovered this tonight. Metroid OST redone with a Korg MS20 Mini.

Have been on some shmups binge recently

Probably one of my major experience on "soundtrack that have great effects on player's behavior " category
My play style went from safe&defemsive to extremely aggressive because the ost got so hyped up in this version.

For me, this was the original. The daddy of good music in video games. Only two things really jump out at me with regard to the music I was first enjoying, 10+ years ago now. Tool's Lateralus and the Halo 2 soundtrack.

And now for something a little different. Lately what's impressed me the most is the soundtrack from Tales of the Borderlands. Here's a taste...

Finally got around to playing/finishing Shadow of the Colossus. First Team Ico game I've played and the soundtrack was brilliant! Next up is The Last Guardian.

The rest of the soundtrack isn't quite the same (John Petrucci isn't involved past these tracks that I know of) but it's still solid.

I have seen this live twice. That's a pretty nice selection of gaming music they usually perform. They do also perform music from soundtracks as well. I assume they will be coming again this year.

My biases are going to show, but here are two of my favourite video game soundtracks to date. First up is Persona 4, which just has a great groove to it that meshes perfectly with the retro-trippy vibe of the entire game. The darker tracks also do well to highlight the murder mystery aspect:

This one's probably less well-known, but I love the heck out of Nier as a game even with its many, many flaws. Part of the reason why is the genuinely interesting plot, but I'd be lying if I said my favourite thing about it wasn't the soundtrack. It's a mix of beautiful piano pieces and powerful orchestral works:

Streets of Rage 2 OST. A work of absolute genius considering the limitations in those days.
