I was thinking the same. Higher level torment levels have to suck with a controller if it's a direct port.

Diablo 3 and what Diablo 2 MP became, along with DOTA style games, are things that evolved into something unique and weird where the core mechanics aren’t the draw, and the core mechanic isn’t very good. With DOTA the draw being the meta team play, and Diablo it seems to be the chaos, the chase, and the grind. Diablo 3 SP wasn’t much more than an overlong tutorial for MP, with a light narrative plastered on top, and all you had was boring gameplay.

Controls are actually pretty good, a natural fit. Even when I was underpowered in a Rift. There’s a roll-dodge in any direction assigned to the right thumbstick too, which I believe was added specifically for console.

I do like how they took something that was interesting in Diablo 3 and ported it to wow. Mythic dungeons are pretty fun, progressing in difficulty with a timed factor. Didn't think I'd play wow again but, it is pretty fun for the casual player now.

Great to see Team Andromeda’s work getting attention. I liked the first two shooters, and the second in particular was quite a technical feat, but it was Saga in particular that grabbed me by the gonads. I think it’s the only JRPG I ever completed. Incredible atmosphere, scale, and tone. One of the very best of the generation.

For those of you who adore DOOM 2016's soundtrack, I present you an OST from Dusk:

Dusk itself is great, too, if you're into Quake and Doom and not having trouble with motion sickness and low-res graphics. It's currently on sale until next year. https://store.steampowered.com/app/519860/DUSK/

Currently looking to get Insurgency Sandstorm and FH4.

Insurgency Sandstorm - Singular example of a shooter with good user reviews in 2018. Def. worth checking out, costs 30 €

FH3 was good, but technical side was a mess. Unfixable crashes that were not patched out by the Turn 10 & MS.
FH4 seems to be good, less technical problems on PC. Overwhelming pos. reviews.

BF5 seems to be a failure not worth the money at lunch. They seems to think they get away with everything. Not getting my money this time. I would like these morons of EA-like publishers to die out and let a 'better nature blossom.'

BF5 seems to be a serious downgrade from BF4, the maps seems to be just some scene not related to gameplay. Many have commented that the maps suck.

Just amazing how few quality titles come out these days in general. Compare most of the modern garbage to games like BG2, Fallout1 & 2, Diablo 1 and NWN1 for their day. As far as i am concerned most of these modern action rpg do not even beat D1. The amount of actual though and creativity is so shallow.

PSA for the PC gamers. Epic Games are promoting their new online store by giving away a game every two weeks until the end of 2019. The first freebie is an absolute stunner, Subnautica. I lost a ton of hours to that game, one of my all time favs. https://www.epicgames.com/store

If I weren't terrified peeless of the deep sea I'd have gone for this. As things stand I can barely watch other people play Subnautica and not mildly panic! But I see that they're offering Super Meat Boy for free once the Subnautica promo lapses on the 27th so there's that to look forward to.

    Thanks for the link!

Yeah, Subnautica is scary as f*ck. Bloody brilliant with the lights out and headphones on, diving 1400 metres into the murky depths. Some strange and predatory creatures down there...

Personally, no (I don't have a VR setup). I can only imagine how immersive and terrifying Subnautica would be in VR. I think I'd probably end up staying on the surface.

The Launcher Wars have begun. I just love me some launchers, I do I do I do

In a few years the console and launcher “wars” will combine into streaming platform wars. How Epic contend with Valve may be a sign of how those play out, given there’s no physical box or brand for people to get attached too. I guess it’ll be exclusives, sales, freebies, and influencer endorsements. Afterall any features will get matched through software, and they’ll all be using PC hardware server side.

Got Spiderman and The Talos Principle for Christmas. I still have God of War to finish, so I'll be busy for a good while.

Picked up the Talos Principle for cheap on Steam too. Also was gifted Into The Breach from a mate, which looks really great. Pretty refreshing these days to have a game that is a sub-200MB download :)
