Wireless is a thing now. Who knew? LDAC, Sony MUC-M2BT, and Campfire Andromeda IEM

That's a major PITA for me as well. There always should be an option to switch this off.

I'd prefer finer volume settings. You can always take a black felt pen to the LED, or buy those fancy darkener thingies.

The Mee P1 liked about 80% of max volume from my iPhone. The Andros need 40% to 50%. I predict the PX won't be too sensitive.

I'm curious about this too. Can anybody shed light on this?

question on the MUC-M2BT, is there any way to lower the default voice and ringer volume? The voice prompts of power on/off, blue tooth connected and off are pretty loud, phone call rings are ridiculously loud and startling. Volume control doesn't seem to do anything for these.

Nope. With Andros or other sensitive IEMs, take them out when turning on/off. I haven't taken a call with them so I don't know about phone call rings. Does lowering the BT Media volume on your phone reduce the ringer volume?

I don't believe so, seems to be on same level of loudness as the voice prompts, but I haven't tried because I tend to hit ignore call asap to get rid of the ring, it seriously hurts hah.

If you're on Android you should be able to adjust the volumes for ringer and media separately.

you can do this on iOS as well, hopefully you can solve the problem by lowering the ringer and alerts volume

Fired up the MUC for a workout and got a "Battery Level Low" warning. Was good for about 20 min til it shut down.

tried various ways to adjust ringer volume and nada, it's definitely separate from media volume. Nothing I'm doing is affecting the ringer volume same as the voice prompts, maybe it's my phone (lg g4).

So that link doesn't go through for me, I had to find the item on the normal (non-pro) UE page: http://www.ultimateears.com/en-us/custom/UE-5-Pro.htm

But, I think you are on the right track with it being a modified/custom shelled jaybird, since UE now also sells the jaybird bluetooth adapter terminated to mmcx as an accessory in their pro shop: http://pro.ultimateears.com/replacement-cable-after-september-1-2010

You have to select it from the drop down as replacement for the UE900, but it is named as "jaybird" and looks pretty much identical to the one in the UE-5 promo.

The "freedom" 1000X doesn't seem to support LDAC, but the wired in-ear version does. Guess they had to leave something out to fit everything into the shell.

The MUC-M2BT1 with A35 has incredible range. I forgot it and walked away from the elliptical at the gym last night, got 30 strides away and around the corner before the signal started to break up.

Apparently the Wired in-ear neckband version is also a 1 BA + 1 DD design.

I would be interested to hear the UE / Jaybird adapter to MMCX. No LDAC but I have IOS devices so AAC is as good as I can get anyway. I have the Jaybird X3s for the gym and while the wire / controller has a few issues (build isn't amazing, annoying proprietary charging dock) I have to admit they get quite a bit of use as the convenience is unparalleled.

I know its sacrilege but I kinda sorta wouldn't mind hearing some MMCX UE18s through the adapter to my iPhone. Ive been on a quest for wireless CIEMS for a while.

When I'm lazy, I just bring the MUC and my phone, which is fine for the gym. But having an LDAC source just brings it back up to near wired sound quality (I pretty much can't tell the difference). Strongly recommend the MUC necklace and an LDAC compatible source for maximum "wireless audio fidelity."

These options still have wires so don't qualify as wireless as far as I'm concerned. It was surprising how liberating truly wireless can be.

Tried a number of truly wireless earbuds and most were gut wrenchingly horrible. However I was surprised by a model called the Yevo 1. Available on line (google Yevo 1) and from Bestbuy in Canada they sound pretty good when used with the right tips (Spinfits or Symbio in my case) and a decent source (both a Lenovo Yogo Book running Tidal Masters and a Sony ZX2 in my case). A bit on the bright side but definitely not bad,. A good fit/seal is critical.

Picked up a cheap pair on ebay and haven't looked back. Don't try the Yevo app to reassign the touch controls or equalize though. Word is it might brick the device!

Curious to know if any other members have tried them and what they think. Maybe I'm deaf ...

FWIW Sony has just released a truly wireless earbud (WF-100x) that does support LDAC, but have not tried them yet.

Do you mean the WF-1000X? Sony website doesn't list LDAC support for the "WF", whereas it does for the "WI". But their spec info usually sucks, so who knows.
