    Hey,

It's that time of year again... going back to saudi for the summer and the BHA-1 is just too big to take on a plane. I'm okay with getting up to rebelamp or something like that as it is 4 months

Times like these a high quality DAPs and IEMs prove their worth.
If you want desktop amp then new Asgard 3 or Jot 2 may be ok to pack.

One of my friends actually recommended I just pack the BHA-1 in a carry on... not sure how this would fare. Really scared to do it with how hectic flights can get.

Just checked Saudi may have 230v so you have to consider that as well. If BHA-1 is 110v then no point carrying it or you have to buy a transformer there to step down.
In case you decide to buy schiit amp in 230 v and decide to bring it back to US then you can get it converted to 110v for a minimal fee. A hassle but an option.
Also you can check out amp with external SMPS as they work 110-240v

You can but at security check you have to take it out and put it on tray. If you have space in carry on then It's an option but carry on in international flights are limited to 7-8 Kg.

FYI...I carried a well packed DSHA-3F, Morpheus in check in luggage without issue. Just informed during check in that it was fragile. However make sure its packed well in checkin and can survive few throw ins.

How did you pack it btw? Was it just the clothing or did you use foam/other materials?

I used the foam and some bubble wrap and put it in between clothes in a nice samsonite suitcase.

That could be my best bet... As for the voltage in Saudi, it actually depends on every single plug. My house had some that were 220v and others that were 110. Usually, they are labeled, but just in case I have my handy multimeter.

I bought Kann Cube to be able to take any cans I like for a couple of months trip. Except for big planars it has more than enough power to drive anything, but it is better to audition it, which is difficult these days. I have BHA-1 as well and it is not an ideal "portable" solution.

Voltage won't be an issue if you get an amp w/ an external 100-240V power supply.

Both my Liquid Carbon X & Liquid Platinum amps do that -- just need to change the power cord to match the outlet style.

Yeah I have realized that my house uses 110V anyways so it's ok with any amp

I use my black label whenever i am staying more than 2 weeks somewhere (unless i am moving a lot). Have you tried it? I wouldn't sell mine for anything because it's so useful (although bulky and not really "portable").

    I haven't but I just need something a bit smaller than a BHA-1.

I actually got a Valhalla 2 which should work for my needs. @mods if u can close that would be great
