Hey guys! With a new baby being born in a couple of days, I need some cash. So, I'm selling my headphone and downgrading to a HD600 or DT880 (or whatever I decide on.) Anyway, I'm selling this headphone for $670 shipped (right at what I paid for it.) It'll be shipped in the original box that will be in another box.

Unfortunately, I can only ship throughout the CONUS. Sorry about that.

    SOLD! To @cskippy!

As someone with both an hd600 and DT880, I'd go with the 600 99% of the time.

    Glws!

Usually I would make that choice too, but I was also going from it at the "well, I am using this for gaming..." kind of stance. Though, I have a chance at a $180 HD600, so may as well.

Let me know if you end up selling the baby. I got a guy. ;)

    Congrats in the meantime.

Bit o/t, but congrats on the baby, and on the sale too! Don't have any kids of my own yet (don't plan to for a good long while!), but if being an older brother is anything close to it you'll want a lively pair of cans to make up for all the sleep you'll be losing ;)

Jokes aside, HD600s are great. Had DT880s myself, and loved them, but only because I was even more broke at the time and got them at a bargain, haha.

I'd end up having to sell myself to save me from the wrath of my wife, haha.

Thank you! I'm thinking of going for the HD650s also if I can find them at $200 shipped. Someone offered me a HD600 for $185...so I'm tempted.

IIRC, the HD650 is supposed to be technically better than the HD600, so the differences amount to more than tonal balance. There's a reason so many people here are in love with the 650s, and I'm tempted to pick a pair up myself!

If you can wait, the Massdrop HD6XX is supposed to just be a rebranded HD650 for $199 new, so may be worth considering? [EDIT: damn, the drop ended. Might be ages before they're back on]

    P.S.
FWIW DT880>>>>>>>HD650 in terms of comfort. Those are hella comfy cans. Shame about the slightly weird treble, but it didn't take me too long to get used to it, and you are coming off an HD800, so... :p

Yup, congrats @PacoTaco on the incoming little one!

My two cents on HD600/650 vs DT880 are HD600/650 for music and DT880 for gaming. Which is the higher priority for you?

I actually find the HD6XX series more comfortable than the DT880 once you bend the spring steel to reduce the clamping pressure because my ears touch the foam covering the driver on the DT880.

Sound wise DT880 will be closer to the HD800 you're used too. HD600 is more relaxed wxcept for the shoutiness from the 3kHz bump. HD650 coin modded is probably the best bargain in audio, IMO.

    Well...I ended up buying someone's Denon D2000 for $170. I was about to buy a HD650 though.

Is the sale finalized? I have a no longer being used pair of D2Ks that you can have for nothing.

Well...shit, yah, I did. Though, I could still take them off your hands ;). (Mostly because I could keep your pair and set up a trade for HD650s or sell them for the $170 I paid for, if you didn't mind.)

Only if you send them back to me after you turn them into super-D2000s like your HD600, haha.

Hey, yeah, do whatever you want with them. The pads on them are in terrible shape. If I were sending them to you for your own use I'd order a fresh set before I sent them. If they're something you'll use for a sale/trade I'll let you order a pair if you don't already have something. I've seen Cheapies on ebay for $15 or so.

I've never mailed headphones before, is it enough packaging to put them in a shoebox with crumpled up paper?

PM me your address and get these in the mail within a few days.

Apologies to Bill-P for not having a second set to send your way. :)

I think I actually had a "super" D5K at some point.

And don't worry, I send back things that people send to me, unless I paid for them. ;)

Hehe, thanks for your considerations! I would have passed them along to PacoTaco all the same, though.
