Yah, this is a weird one.

I'm selling my day old GSX1000. As good as the virtual surround sound is on the GSX1000, I like the feature set of the SoundblasterX G6 better. That said, the GSX1000 has the best non-headphone tracking VSS implementation I've ever heard. It even gets sound distance correct and sounds like one seamless soundstage. That said, it is a PC-only tool.

Next up is my GSP500 headset. It's got two things unusual about it: it has subbass (on a $250 open headset) and it actually sounds good. Near the level of the HD6xx in resolve, though the tuning leans more towards a V-shape. It's also low-ohm, low-efficiency and the mic is actually fantastic. But...it doesn't fit my big ass head.

The GSX1000 is $180 shipped. Only a day old. (SOLD)

    The GSP500 is $140 shipped.

I might be interested in the GSP500. I have a GSP 300 now. I'll have to think about it a bit. I have a very noisy 10G switch right next to my gaming rig so I am not quite sure if I can live with the open back or not.

I had a GSX1000 and what was most impressive was the zero latency "talk back" feature. If you have sealed back gaming headphones you can listen to your microphone through your headphones so you can hear yourself talking. This is the only gaming oriented device I've heard that will do it with zero perceivable latency. It's a really nice feature.
