I'm always interested in high end dynamic iems, but I haven't heard the Dita, neither truth, nor answer, nor upcoming dream (shouldn't it be called the question or equivocation or something to match the theme?).

Anyway, I remember Muppetface like her set (Where are thou, MF?).

    Anyone here heard a dita?

I've owned The Answer for a year and sold it recently. I didn't use it much though. First impression was treble was so harsh and grainy and everything sounded steely fake. After a week, I lent it to my brother who needed an earphone at work.

The last time I heard it, I thought there was something wrong as there was too much resonance and channel imbalance. So I sent mine to Dita Singapore to check and they said everything worked fine. I put it on sale immediately after I got it back.

    Edit: some grammar correction

What is funny is I try to tell myself it's quite good and keep it and hope it would sound better if I'm in a good mood.

That's before I discovered Changstar, I still regret I got caught in hype train and had bad purchases for whole 2 years.

Thanks, good answer. The treble was a concern, and they seemed to be priced above what they should be. Maybe the dream will be better.

Borrowed the the Truth for a week a couple months back. It's a decent phone in terms of detail retrieval, but it is very, very funky in terms of instrument timbre (usually a strength of good DD drivers IMO) and its balance is definitely tipped towards the upper treble.

I actually find that even the entry model, the answer, is able to compete technically with some of the most expensive IEMs out there despite the price. i also find the Dita tonality to be, when paired with a good, transparent source, very accurate and some of my favourite around. I'm not a fan f the Truth personally. However, I have the truth cable which I pair with other IEMs and I have found the truth cable to be exceptional, significantly better than even the most expensive offerings from, say, DHC. I'm currently using the answer and the Dita Brass with the copper truth cable, among other things :)

They do take an awfully long time to settle though, or the bass would just be bloated and the highs overly sharp with the imaging all over the place. These burn in observations weren't made with my auditory memory, but rather, with comparisons between two pairs, one fully burnt in and one brand new at the start and at the end of the burn in. I noted changes up to 500h, and this is actually what the Dita guys recommend too, make of it what you will. :)

Agree with the burn in bit, which I also mentioned on the DITA loaner thread. Needs a minimum of 500 hours of burn in to sound close to how it should. If that's too much of a hassle, then you should probably look elsewhere. The IEM market is rather big after all.
I did hear a shopowner's personal set which he estimated had close to 1000-hours of usage, and it really did sound even better next to the 500-hour demo unit. Much tighter bass, and more open, giving it a better sense of clarity.
If you prefer a sweeter sound without the BA rolloff, the copper Truth will be better for your tastes, albeit more expensive.

Sorry if I come off as a bit of a shill, but these are IEMs which I feel are somewhat misunderstood because they are often listened to without sufficient burn in. The main reason I didn't buy one myself was because I prefer the presentation of open-back headphones, and my budget got diverted to the Valhalla 2 and Bifrost Multibit. Plus I felt the portable game was no longer worth the chase, what with many DAPs costing as much or more than the Bifrost Multibit without being able to put up a close fight.

Also, it seems like the Dream was canned at the prototype stage.

With regards to the copper truth, I had a unit in my possession for almost 3 months. I felt it better than the truth in a couple of ways, however, it is never going into production, at least there are no plans for that anytime in the near future.

The Dream prototype actually was merely that, a prototype where they tested out new concepts and designs. The Dream is still very much alive, but is being completely reworked based on everything that they have learnt thus far. :)

All impressions are welcome and good to hear that the dream is still on.

A dita with excellent timbre and extension at both ends without a treble peak would be an iem I would buy.
