Got pretty lazy to search around but I wanted to know how to build a headphone measurement rig and how much I should look into spending. Any quick link for a jump start would help.

The last I sold mine for was 299 add fees. If you can get past the sound signature and aren't expecting a lot of bass slam that is a really technically capable headphone for the buck. It was next to the LCD-X when I had it and kind of embarrassed the Audeze on several points.

The Leckerton UHA 6S MKII is a longstanding crowd favorite here for good reason. So that's an option.

If you can deal with something that feels like a Soviet-era cereal box toy, the Geek Out battery-powered stuff could be a good fit as well.

The TH-X00s are easy to drive, so you'll have lots of options including a ton of DAPs if you want to go that route.

Are you looking for some specific attribute(s) like durability, size, sound quality, etc? Indicating those might help folks here give specific recommendations.

Yeah, definitely can't go wrong with the leckerton uha-6s mkii especially for the price they go for used. VentureCraft products are hard to find because they have no official distribution channel in the US but I highly recommend their DAC/AMP units if you can find one for sale.

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to respond to me.

My apologies as I am relatively new to the forum and I didn't list any specifics.

    As for specifics.

Durability: Most of the use will be used on my laptop/Phone. To be able to move around the house would be very nice.
Size: Any size that I would be able to move around with around the house.
Sound Quality: The best "sound quality" I can get. I really do enjoy a warm signature but maybe a neutral signature would be best since I can always EQ it to my taste.

All in all, I am looking for a portable all in one DAC/AMP that I can use with my laptop/phone. I want to be able to go downstairs to listen to my music without having to be stuck upstairs with my desktop set up.

Sadly the reason I'm selling my desktop set up is because I have to unplug everything just to go downstairs and it's really annoying.

I currently have the HTC 10 which has a pretty good DAC(people say it's 80% of the Chord Mojo).

SHOULD I even get a dedicated amp/dac for my Fostex TH-X00? I don't want to be underdriving them(people say they are easy to drive but I hope i'm not missing out if i'm driving with the HTC 10).

Also is there any portable amp/dac that's able to drive power hungry headphones in the future if I decide to go a different route in headphones? Some day I want to be be able to use the Ether Flow or LCD 2 that probably won't be driveable with my HTC 10.

Sorry for the long response, Hope this helps anyone who can give me some advice as where I should go next.

So this might be a really stupid question...

If I were to buy an OTL amp (like a Crack or Torpedo) as a do-all amp, would there be any benefit to building a headphone adapter with a built in resistor to use with my low impedance 'phones? So that the amp would see a 300-600 ohm load and maybe sound decent with low impedance headphones ?

    2 questions.

    1. I purchased an old console stereo, and am thinking about taking the tube amp out, and refurbishing it to make into a speaker amp. Any ideas on where I could go to find more information about doing this, as I have seen it done a lot, I just dont know where exactly to gain more knowledge on this subject.

    2. If I were to eventually sell my Omega Mini Me speakers, I have no idea what they are worth, as I can find very little information on the web about them. Any ideas on that? they are made my Omega Speakers, so they should be pretty good.

If you are okay with shipping the Omega Mini Me to NYC for a reasonable price, I would like to try them out.
