@shotgunshane thanks for your feedback man!!! so for the time being I'lll stick to my ie800 and my ex1000!

Somehow I don't think i'm able to have THE proper sound from the ex1000. Tried all tips sizes provided and even some comply but to no avail. Failing to see the "magic" with that one.

Yay just got a new EX1000 from Japan. With this, I guess I gonna stick to DD for quite some time. It has some kind of allure (especially the lingering mids) that I don't find on the BA iem I tried or owned. Bass is very, very stiff tho due to being new.

I just picked up a new EX1000 from Japan as well. Even new I like them better than my IE800's. I am having a balanced cable made for them by Peterek built so that I can inline an IEMatch and still terminate into a 4-pin XLR.

Noice. It's nice to know Japan is still producing new units for us all.

How did you manage to get a balanced cable for EX1000? I'm wondering what magic is waiting for me if I managed to get a 3.5 mm TRRS.

@shotgunshane Do you think it would be useful to add a list of IEMs that didnt make your recommendation list? Seems like a good idea in my head..

For me, the default green tips work well and sucked in my ears. forget about isolation, this thing is open.

Especially when nowadays the market for BA driver is really wild with pricing.

Custom made by Brandon Peterek. He has the EX1000 connectors and uses Nucleotide Hybrid (silver plated OCC Copper) wire.

Do you mean like a second tier list or a list of iems to avoid? I'm assuming a second tier list- Solid offerings but with caveats?

Has anyone here heard the InEar Stagediver series, namely the SD2?

From my experience, the key to easy insertion and fit is to keep the ear hooks like this when not in use:

Yeah more like a list of everything else that you tested.
Just so we know what has passed by your ears. it makes it a bit more efficient than asking if you've heard xyz and that post gets lost in the thread

also an avoid list would be a bonus

Oh, gotcha. I have a list of just about everything that I've heard over at HF. I'll have to see if I can easily export that to something usable and post here.

I've updated the first post with a link to google docs/sheets. I made an excel file of everything that I've heard. I may have left a few off and will update as discovered and as I hear more things. This is more comprehensive than the list on HF. Let me know what you think.

Wow, that is a long list of stuff that you currently own as well! Thanks a lot, this is perfect!

I wonder when you began making a list haha! Or atleast how you remembered enough to make a list at some point when you realized "hey I should probably write these down because I've gone through 50 already so far"

I have a custom cable, actually 2 from PETEREK, great cables. Just watch out for the ear guides, they are very stiff.

Nowadays, I always check shotgunshane's list before making purchase any new IEMs. For that, I am very grateful to @shotgunshane for making it easy to decide which ones to buy.. Burnt so many times purchasing wrong ones and regret later. I just wish there is a list for full sized headphone, too so anyone can also refer to comprehensive list before purchasing full sized headphone. Yes, there are many reviews on individual ones but it is all scattered around and not very convenient.
