I agree, SGS is the man, definitely trust his ears... Probably more so than my own. :)

Thank you very much. ;) I did not know the list exist. I just checked and it is good reference and it would been great if it has brief description on each one of them. And the list contains not only headphone but source components and IEMs too. And not many headphones listed.
To my surprise, Fostex TH-X00 has awarded as the best product of 2015 which I currently have and it was okay but not great to me. Bass quantity & quality is great but mid and high are just okay.

And, who designed the award medal? Golden dick medal look terrible (at least to me)....

Yep... So far, all of IEMs purchased from his list have not disappointed me a bit. :)

Added Noble/Massdrop X to the list. A solid offering at a great price.

Massdrop X– MSRP $250. Universal. Downward sloping signautre. Reminiscent of the NAD HP50. Visceral bass, slight bump in upper mids and smooth treble. Recommend wide bore, large tips with shallow fit.

Has anyone tried Trinity Audio Phantom Master 4 yet? They started shipping all of pre-orders last couple of weeks.... Not sure if it is good enough to compete with Noble X. If I understood correctly, PM4 uses hybrid drivers (2 x 7mm titanium diaphragm drivers with push pull tech just like ATH CKR9/10 + 2 BAs) with 7 tuning filters. All of this at £139. Quite attractive price. Never tried Trinity IEMs though... Keen to get hands on either PM4 or Noble X not sure which one to get..

    Has anyone here tried these?

    64 Audio U18 Tzar (18 driver IEM)

64 Audio Tia Fourte (Hybrid tubeless driver with 10mm Dynamic driver)

any thoughts and impression on them?

    Thanks.

And another question: Did anyone listen to the new InEar ProPhile 8?

Heard them a few days ago but I´m new to the IEM world so I guess I am not really capable of comparing them to other TOTLs. Heard on the same day CA Vegas and prefer the Prophile 8 by a quite margin because of the neutral but at the same time very musical and balanced reproduction, extremely great soundstage and airiness. Two days later I briefly listened to the Andros and found that they lack bass in comparison to the Prophile 8, so I´m really tempted to buy these german IEMs. But as said, it was no direct comparison with the Andros so maybe I´m wrong and too quick with my verdict. I will definitely give them another listen and try to AB them. The hyped Vega is definitely out because of too thick bass and at the same time too less treble.

Thanks in advance for your opinions!

Haven't heard the Trinity's or 64 Audio's. I hope to hear the Prophile 8 soon. @james444 demoed the Prophile 8 against his UERM and found bass levels similar. That would make Andromeda bassier. Andromeda bass is highly dependent on source output impedance- the higher the OI, the less bassy they are.

SGS, any guidance for small, barrel-like, IEMs in $200-300 price range? Just want the ability to wear it both straight down/over the ear, plus i have pretty tight ear canals/limited space before antihelix. Removable cables would be preferable, but i'll take what i can get. I usually listen at low volume levels.

Both Echobox Finder X1 (V-shaped, $150) and Jays Q-Jays (neutral-ish, $200) seems to have discounts currently going on. You seems to own both. Anything tips on those two or any other potential options i might have missed and should look into?

Not @shotgunshane, but you may want to try to find a used Aurisonics ROCKETS. While the cable is chunky and non-removable, it would otherwise seem to fit the bill. Sounds great, although I found that it played best at higher volume. Nigh indestructible, too, if you plan on using it in more rough-and-tumble scenarios.

Used Rockets would be a great choice for a non-fatiguing yet neutralish sound.

The Finder X1 is pretty bassy and bright, so definitely very V shaped.

The Q-jays are pretty bright too but if you add 90 ohms impedance, they can closely approximate the JH Angie sound. If you go the Q-Jays route, this is highly recommended.

Found some new stock Rockets listed for $250, would that be a good deal now that they discontinued?

Any comments on the microphonics with the cable down and general build quality on those 3 IEMs? I remember reading that Rockets cable was quite microphonic, quickly skimming through Finder X1 and Q-Jays HF threads i couldn't find any discontent with their cables. However, Finder X1 seems to have some build quality problems with the filters and last 5 pages of Rockets thread were all about people having problems with cable cutting out/drivers failing and inability to get a warranty response from Aurisonics. Yikes.

Wish i could fit any monitor-like shaped earphones in my ears, would have made my life so much easier without having to limit myself to the smallest ones available.

The Rockets SQ is well worth the MSRP of 250 but I'm a bargain shopper and would probably look in the HF classifieds for a used one. The cable is a little more microphonic when worn down but I don't recall it being an issue when worn over the ear.

Regarding Rocket warranty if bought new- Dale had given Andy's direct Fender email in the HF thread for warranty support. But you could always call Fender directly as well.

The Q-Jays build seems quite good too. I have no idea if they've had any recent issues though.

I've heard the 1+2 (not the latest revision), that I quite liked- expansive and energetic, and I've heard the Plus5, which is just ok- too warm and bassy.

I would say both have very good resolving capabilities. Where the P1 steps ahead is in spaciousness. The GR07 sounds plenty wide but always felt lacking in depth. The P1 sounds grander and more enveloping. Interestingly Vsonic has just released the GR07X. Supposedly a more linear version of the classic.

Just got the P1 yesterday, and so far I like it quite a lot, its a tad mid-centric with upper-mid emphasis, I am not hearing much sibilance (extended exposure to EX1000 has desensitized me in that area), bass extension and texture is lacking vs EX1000, but other than that its not really losing ground as far as I can tell, and is much less peaky to boot.
