You know, the house next to mine is for sale. If you feel like a move, I'd love to mooch off of...I mean...take a strong interest in your home theater pursuits. |\/|

Per the discussion a few posts earlier, Witcher 3 has been added to my wishlist. I'm too old and don't have the time for such a huge/long/expansive game, but it looks like it's an experience I shouldn't miss out on.

I've just finished the Witcher 3 last weekend and started a new game plus yesterday. This time playing with Japanese dub:).
Love the Japanese voice of Geralt, he sounds like an old mercenary. The voice acting is completely out of the original character but gives a whole new feeling to the game.

Funny, the only other game I've ever played more than once is Dragon Age Origins, and I've completed that one 6 times.

I've never owned a projector. When they drop in more of a reasonable price range with true 4k, HDR, ability to handle the typical framerate, I'm jumping in.

If you don't care about HDR & 4K, the price of current models is very reasonable (Epson 8350 for example), but you're right, 4K is still extremely expensive. If it wasn't a tax write off, I doubt I could have justified the expenditure.

I think the HDR (I got a vizio P) is probably more important than the 4k(though I realize 4k is going to be a big factor in larger screens).

I'll add the following points for any gamers that are considering projection...

    1) Light control matters, in my case I've done and/or benefit from the following...
    a) It is a true basement man cave with no windows and a door that closes
    b) the projector wall and the first couple feet of the side walls and ceilings are painted black with ULTRA matte/flat paint
    c) I've applied protostar telescope flocking on the exterior of my front speakers and the top of the low console/center channel stand that spans the 8' width of the screen

    2) Your screen matters... an elunevision reference 4K screen hit the sweet spot for me with respect to cost/benefit

    3) Calibration! I spent lots of time with the Spears & Munsil blu ray and it was worth it!

The result for me of the above is picture quality that subjectively rivals our Samsung Plasma upstairs. The protostar flocking added to the illusion that the screen is floating in space and helped to bridge the perceived contrast gap with the Plasma (the Plasma is still better but it is a much closer fight now) Battlefield 1 is incredibly immersive as a result.

I heard great things about the game, the problem is that my system needs to be updated to run the game properly.
And i would rather spend the money on a Gungnir Multibit or Yggdrasil.

My current system is running a non overclocked i7 ivy core with an ati 390x video card.

Turn down shadow res to medium (which makes hardly any difference visually) and grass distance to high and you'll be rocking the game 1080p @ 60fps. Unless you're playing 1440p (or higher).

Also, all three Witcher games are story focused. You should give Witcher 1 & 2 a chance as well. I've personally played through the first 2 games so many times I've lost count..

I do own both, first and second Witcher games. Tried the first one several years ago and it felt I needed a gamepad to play.

Another game I was thinking of playing again (for the 4th time now), is Vampire the masquerade, I'm a sucker for those kind of darker world settings.

Vampire: The Masquerade is also one of my favorite PC games (also played the tabletop Vampire rpg for years).

For a more action oriented game but with an interesting story I'd recommend Second Sight.

    Man...

Thats another game I own and never really got to far in to it. Great choice BTW not sure why I never really got to finish it.

And most likely the answer to that is WoW.

Holy balls, I am enjoying the temporary "Total Mayhem" gametype in Overwatch right now. Massively accelerated CDs.. so I tried Zarya, who lives by her CDs, and the end result is ludicrously fun. The Russian Murder Machine has never been so much fun. Even other tanks just wilt and die- it's hilarious watching D.Va flee at the first sign of the perma-high energy beam..

Also, Lucio is ludicrously fun, of course. Total Mayhem indeed.

Junkrat is insane as well. His reduced mine cooldown allows him to hop around like an explosive kangaroo. I just bounce/explode repeatedly up and down in the middle of combat since I can do damage while flying away. So fun.

Yeah, sadly the power goes to the head of Junkrat players, they throw all the enemies out of Graviton Surge with mines too- usually wasting Zarya's ulti and Pharah/Hanzo's at the same time-such a troll!

Sounds like Dota Imba custom game in Dota 2. Buff everything for balance - balance in imbalance.

Wat. The Witcher 1 was built around m&kb from the ground up, from the controls to the UI and inventory design. It would be pretty unpractical with a controller.

A took some screenshots a couple years back when I replayed the game with my UW monitor. For a 10 year old game built around the old Bioware Aurora engine, it manages to look pretty decent. And it's atmospheric as hell.
