    Hi all!

Think the stock Meanwell power supply went kaputt on my Pi2AES; I'm not getting any lights from it at all, and I haven't changed anything with it (SD card, output) or even touched it at all. Tried several working outlets, nothing. Seems to be just bricked. Haven't tried troubleshooting whether it's the Pi or not, but I have a feeling it's the PSU, bc of the no lights situation, plus I've been wanting a new PSU anyway, so two birds, one stone, I guess.

So I was wondering if any of y'all folks had a PSU that works with the Pi2AES, doesn't have to be anything fancy or an LPS even—I'm happy with performance parity with stock SMPS. Seriously, any power supply that is known to work with the Pi2AES. Just want my HAT to work again. Have a budget of ~$100.

If you have an ifi iPower Elite or something crazy like that that you want to let go of, still message me and I'll see how much I can shoot over budget and hopefully we can make something happen.

    Thanks for looking!

Still keeping this thread open for a PSU that's better than stock, I just needed one to troubleshoot with, and @RKML0007 handled that, still on the look out for a better sounding PSU.

This doesn't require the 5v mod, since it's 24v (same as stock smps), correct?

Yep might need a barrel adapter. Mine didn’t. Here’s a pic:

This is the best power supply I've tried, better than stock.

@caute , if you use the exact link @RKML0007 gave, you won't need a barrel adaptor - it's 2.5mm, which is the size of the jack on the Pi2AES HAT. Be careful if you order from elsewhere though as there's identical version but with a 2.1mm plug.

Quite a few of us here are using that supply, I think (thanks to @Clemmaster for the rec). Linear, regulated, cheaper than the stock Mean Well - nothing not to like.

Stock PSU is not bad, if you still want inexpensive switching PSU I would stick with Meanwell. Here is a little story:
I bought LPS for P2AES and did not hear much difference but when I replaced the the Monolith THX 887 stock PSU (24V 2A) with Meanwell, improvement was very obvious. In dynamic range and bass mostly

What other power supplies have you tried (besides the stock Meanwell switching power supply)?

This did it for me, had already ordered—but don't feel like I need more now. @shotgunshane, @jexby my humblest ask to close out this lil thread. Bought the one @RKML0007 initially rec'd—and thank you to @Biodegraded for the thumbs up!
