Yes, my benchmark was something that could, In my listening reverie, fool me that I was actually there.

There is an objective answer to that. I heard from some studio Pro somewhere: to the effect that, we can say it sounds like the real thing... Come on, of course it doesn't and nobody is really fooled that some pair of speakers is so good that anybody would make the mistake!

Thing is, there is an equivalent to the willing suspension of disbelief of the literary world.

Even stereo itself is an illusion!

We willingly play the game. Would not be any fun if we didn't.

Probably a.i. generated (catgpt-lol), saw them online. Look at their little fingers, so cute and funny. Reminds me of other tiny things some people who have big opinions of themselves are in cherished possesion of.

I thought they were just great, thank you for posting them. My two cats, both of whom are rescues from my local SPCA in Dublin, CA, would like them, as well. They're a couple of characters.

Ringo, aka The Notorius RBL (Ringo, Black Leopard). He really is like living with a leopard, BTW. He has the most incredible athletic ability of any cat I've ever owned. He reminds me of pro tennis player Rafael Nadal in his athletic ability.

    Cray-cray. He's also...BatCat!

Aga, named after Polish female tennis player, Agnieska "Aga" Radwanska. She is the sweetest cat...

    Apologies for the digression...;)

Lots of what I listen to is recorded with cardio pairs and through top kit. If it doesn't sound like it should, I'm disappointed. As for recordings I don't know, I listen for whether I can understand the message of the performers. If the goosebump factor is high, it's doing a lot of things right. If not, I don't care how it measures, good or bad.

Preferred 'flavors' are fine but obfuscates the intent and emotional connection... for me.

That's fine. Your requirements and "customer needs" are as valid as anyone else's.

lol OP, I appreciate you wasting some of your time. That was entertaining, but probably for none of the reasons you wanted it to be.

Amir decided to measure the new "budget" AP analyzer. At $9k, it's considerably cheaper than the APx555.

"If you are a manufacture and can't afford the APx555, and aim to have your product reviewed by me, I highly recommend getting the APx516. It will give you familiarity with my testing and very nice preview of what I may find."

I can't fathom why a manufacturer wouid spend $9k on this only to have an amateur throw it on his more expensive model. This implies the cheaper unit isn't enough to test audio components thoroughly.

This reminds me of the quote that inaudibe is inaudible and you don't get extra points for making something twice as inaudible.

Morever, Amir has not conducted, analysed, nor published a statistically valid MSA (Measurement System Analysis) using his AP. For example, what the % Contribution of his AP meaurement system to the Sums of Squares of the Total System Variance? No answer. Why? Because...he hasn't performed an MSA.

"Scientists" who publish their data without first having conducted an MSA that provides statistically valid data that their "measurement systems" are fit-for-purpose have no scientific credibility with me.

It's so typical an Amir comment, thinking he's the only one whose opinion matter. Thinking so highly of himself that he seriously thinks it's a manufacturers end-game to have their product reviewed by him.

ASR's methodologies are NOT backed by rigorous scientific discipline.

Q: Have you ever seen them perform a proper MSA? A: Nope.

Q: Have you ever seen them conduct a DOE (Design of Experiments)? A: Nope.

Ths is NOT real science....it's "froufrou"

As such, who cares what ASR thinks? From a rigorous and real scientific perspective, It's just an opinon, nothing more.

Adopting a more philosophical perspective, though, looking at this from the priniciples of Stoicism, here's some helpful quotes from Marcus Aurelius:

"It never ceases to amaze me: we all love ourselves more than other people, but care more about their opinion than our own."

    and...

“Tranquility… comes when you stop caring what they say. Or think, or do. Only what you do.”
