I can't find the manual but the website says that Rev P3.x should be compatible with Gustard. That means there's either a problem with the Gustard's IIS input, or a problem with my Pi2AES's IIS output. Unfortunately I don't have any other IIS devices to test, but if there's something wrong with my DAC I'd like to know sooner than later so I can get it fixed.

    My old RPI3 burned out.
I'm thinking about purchasing the new RPI5.
    Is it compatible with PI2AES?

There are folks on another forum who are running the pi5 in a pi2aes, with claims that the sound is superior due to the moving of the GPIO and other components from the SOC onto the RP1 chip. I am definitely intrigued, though would need a slightly new case design...

Other thing I'm wondering. Pi 5 has a 5v5a power requirement, but have heard this "Apparently if you've only got a 3A supply then the downstream USB power gets limited but otherwise it works"... so if I do this with Pi2aes 2.0, where I power the hat separate, and use this as an endpoint (nothing plugged into the pi besides power and the hat), theoretically an Allo Shanti could work?

The five amp takes into account devices connected to the pi USB port. If you have no USB peripherals, then it will be much less.

I have one of the devices in house now and plan to do some initial testing, and updating our case design to support it. Steve, it is not a high priority, so it might take a few weeks before I sort it out.

Thank you! I love the value prop on the Shanti with your product so if my use case works for that with a Pi 5 I'm in.

I’m looking to 3D print a new Pi2AES case in black. Do you happen to know if the files are available? (specifically for the case which holds the screen)

send an email to [email protected] and I will send you the dxf files. You’ll have to convert for 3d printing.

Hi all, I'm desperate and in need of guidance. This thread has enthused me to go down the Pi2AES path years ago and it has been performing flawlessly since.

Ropieee installed, feeding mojo2 over coax than directly to Pass ACA power amp. I have been using Bubble UPNP with great success over mobile (Xiaomi).

Since I switched the phone to Pixel 7a, the playback is falling out continuously. I disabled every possible sleep function for bubble client and licence. Messed with everything in the Bubble settings. Playback stops randomly. Sometimes after 2 songs, sometimes after 5 or 20. It stops in the middle of tracks, not after. Connection to local renderer (Ropieee) is lost and i need to restart Bubble to select it again.

I realise this has more to do with software than the streamer, but as I said, Im desperate.

    Please advise,
    Hugs from snowy Sweden

I had a problem with playback stopping with any notification (this was with a Samsung phone... no experience with Pixel). I ended up getting a cheap tablet and disabling notifications all notifications on the device. I've since stopped using Bubble entirely and use mConnect as my player (UI is a little funky, but I found it more stable than Bubble in my setup)

I found the above described problem be linked mostly, but not exclusively, to streaming big files (over qobuz) - 192/24 will stop playing after 40 seconds most of the time. When i limit qobuz to 44/16 directly on the renderer, it works most of the time. Tried streaming directly from rpi4 usb and its the same problem, so pi2aes isnt at fault.

The ethernet cable into rpi tested healthy at over 250/250 Mbits. That surely should be enough for even the premiumest of premium qobuz files right??

I had to create an openhome bubbleupnp server on another machine to get stability, so the android control point is out of the equation. But now it seems only router can be to blame? Or can rpi4 suddenly be unable to cope with bigger streams?
