Sold: Yamaha YH-2 vintage ortho

I have two of these with original packaging. They are good condition. Ime Yamaha pads even when received in mint condition will within short use flake away their top shiny coat and feel less smooth. I guess because they are old. So the pads are not shiny smooth which does no favors for comfort or sound. Enjoy as-is or mod to suit taste. Good luck finding suitable alternate pads but not required for enjoyment.

I found these more fun to mod than to listen. Modding these orthos from stock has a more interesting and dramatic effect than modding an electrodynamic driver. These are similar to modern T50RP in that the diaphragms are not tensioned. Similar strategy to damping mods as well (managing airflow, reflections, and enclosure resonance, … and chemical x secret sauce).

Reason for sale is that I prefer Emu-w. Form factor is not so different. Too many headphones.
