My Classic Truck. If you own a classic car or truck post it up!

I love classic cars and trucks. My father owned a restoration shop when i was growing up. He retired and moved to Alaska years ago but his passion for old vehicles became mine as a child. I have put a lot of work into this truck which wasn't road worthy when i bought it. Took me almost two years to get it to it's current state and I have more planned. My dream is to save up enough money for a Ford Racing engine that puts out about 575 hp.

Right now I have a 460 with a mild build. It boogies pretty good.

Anyways if anyone else loves old cars and trucks, own one or more, have owned any...I'd love to see pictures.

Here is my 1965 Ford F100 Camper Special:

 

Oh man, that thing is purrrrddy. I've got a soft spot for late 60's F100s and F250s. I learned how to drive stick at 12 or 13 years old in my grandpa's 1969 F250 Ranger 4x4.

 

Yeah me too. The soft spot for mid to late 60's that is. I also learned to drive stick around that age; well 14. I learned in an International Scout though. Those were the good ol days.

The 69 Ford is a nice one too. Good year for a lot of cars and trucks.

Looking back, when I was a kid I had one side of the family living out on a ranch, hence the 69 250 Hi-Boy with granny gear, and the other side of the family living in town, with a 68 or 69 Bronco with 3 on the tree. So it's really cool to see simple old trucks get a little pampered with a good resto.

Aaaaand, now I'm digging around on BAT, ATC, and Meccum...

 

@yotacowboy lol sorry if I caused you to be looking into owning a classic vehicle...lol hell no I'm not! Owning an old vehicle that you can do all the work on and no need for smog....is just great. I hope you find something that ticks all the right boxes. It's so much fun to work on and more fun to enjoy! Plus the attention is pretty cool too. If I go to the hardware store I usually plan an extra 30 minutes because someone will always want to stop me and check it out. I enjoy those moments, talking about my truck, talking shop and hearing the stories people always share with me. Its very cool how an old car or truck will spark someones memory and make them relive their past story with me about the truck their Dad or grandfather had...or one they owned themselves.

The truck originally had a 352 but now has a 460 in it. Not super pretty but that is one of the things I want to work on next. Actually this picture is from last year. Since then I put a riser on the carb and a Edelbrock steel line with filter from the carb (replacing that old rubber hose and plastic fuel filter) and then braided fuel line to the pump and tank.

 

That's nice, my grandfather had a similar truck, we also have some trucks now we are using ford and GMC latest trucks, in our towing company, of 24/7 towing service nyc.

 

Beautiful job on the truck. 460 is a good motor, I had one in my 68 Lincoln.



I also had a 86 300D Mercedes, old Turbo Diesels are fun also.



Now a 82 Jeep with a 4.3 GM V6


Not trying to claim as classic status as an F100 in any way but pretty classic for daily drivers.

 

I love the Lincoln man. My Dad had a 68 when I was growing up. Back during the gas crisis in the 70's he parked it on blocks behind the garage because it cost too much to gas her up and he just left it there for years. Nothing wrong with it when he parked it and then just let it rot away until we moved many years later and he sold it to the junk yard. What a waste.

My uncle was the world’s leading expert at restoring Hudsons. As a kid visiting I always got to tour his huge garage full of classic cars he was working on or finished with. So many beauties. Those curves!

I don’t own this but here’s a Hudson.

 

Last weekend I got a pair of 6th gen Ford F150 4WD shortbeds as my next projects. I am going to be busy this winter. Plan is to make one a on road show piece and the other a off road beater.
