Hi there. Could purrin or another EC member confirm that the boards have been received?
    Is there any tentative schedule?
Thanks again for the hard work!

I have two of the mono price glass and metal stands. They are very well made and look quite nice. Great for the price.

My six sigma calibrated eyesight did not reveal any defects in the cursory scan I performed last week!

The boards are in but have not been 100% tested. We found a small screw up on the power supply boards, but nothing that couldn't be fixed with wire and solder. Just a little more work. Basically expect a small trickle of deliveries in a week with production ramping up in two or three.

I am delivering the final list to Judi as I type.

Reminder: SOLD OUT. Do not contact us or send in a purchase form. For run 2.5 (the last 50 of this 100 unit run), we will sell them as they are available. First come first served.

Just got the email that they are preparing the first batch and making sure everyone still wants one. They said if they don't hear from you in 14 days you will be off the list. Make sure to respond and look for this email! Hoping this means they are roughly 14 days out on shipping!

I preordered way back on December 2015 and no email yet either. I don't even know if I am still on the list or not.

Only the first ten on the list were contacted. We are building ten units first, to be followed by 20 and then 20 in batches.

So my uni decided to give me an extra stipend for summer... for better or worse, this has let me start browsing more amps that I couldn't consider before.

I'm now deciding if I should keep my Black Widow order or consider if other options would be better. I don't wish to mod my HD800, so I'm above all else I'm looking for an amp that can warm the treble a bit for me... which is the reason that drew me to the BW in the first place. Thoughts?
    Possibilities: Stratus, ZDS

Either is phenomenal. I like both and especially love the ZDS for both the HD800 and HD600. The Stratus is nice and has a wonderful sound, but I'd hear it first if I was you.

Honestly, the SuperDupont is easier than you think. You can find someone just a little mechanically apt and they can install it for you.

    Hey, thanks for the reply.

With the current wait time for a Stratus >10 months, I think it's unlikely I will get it. That leaves me with ZDS vs BW, which has been compared a few times in this thread.

TL/DR of the comparisons from this thread:
BW is warmer/bassier. ZDS more neutral, more impact.
    ZDS is more resolving

I believe someone earlier rated the BW a 9.5 and the ZDS 10. Especially with a stock HD800, i think a warmer sound may suit it better, but I'm just purely speculating.

Regarding mods, I haven't decided if I'm comfortable with a DIY on a $1K headphone. The treble doesn't bother me enough to risk it haha.

If you're not comfortable with the SD mod, the SBAF mod is super easy to DIY and literally takes only minutes to complete. I would really recommend everyone to atleast try the HD800 mods.
I literally can't listen to an unmodded HD800 after getting used to my modded one. Basically improves tonality and staging by 250%.

I've never modded anything in my life and just installed the Superdupont mod this week. It really does those exact things you're hoping for to a stock HD800.
