Am in full agreement - Ragnarok (inherently balanced amplifier due to the ciclotron) does not sound as detailed or musical as the EAR HP4 (accepts XLR inputs but only has single ended outputs).

I actually signed up at headcase quite some time ago... still a lousy SNR though. At Headfi you have to filter through all the hype and amazeballs impressions; where every turd is shiny and golden. At Headcase you have to filter through all the crotchety "this is crap" and "I could make it better if..." hyperbole; where they think their schiit don't stink like the rest. There's the same ratio of parrots on both, and frankly I'd rather deal with schills and inexperienced gibberish over those with agendas and axes to grind.

edit: although it's been a long time since I've been to headcase... maybe they've gotten better?

I think you are all barking up the wrong tree. It's supposed to be innovative? Right? What category of personal audio needs innovation?

The Boom Box! This device is sorely in need of a Schiit innovation upgrade!

I, for one, would welcome further development in the Personal Disco Component sphere! With effort, I have little doubt that Schiit could produce something truly Fly and/or Pimptastic. Perhaps, dare I say, even Funkalicious?

Kind of hoping the SS2 announcement will be something like a Modibit integrated into an Asgard sized amp...

An upgradable one box solution would be fantastic. Emphasis on upgradeable, because that's the bane of every other one box setup.

My bet is they are making and r2r ADC phono "Preamp" that does a variety of RIAA and pre RIAA curves in the digital domain.

This is the exact thing I'm hoping for.

Something Bifrost/Asgard sized with Modi and Magni like modules reaping the benefits of a beefier power supply.

Every box is upgradable. You buy a new box and sell the old one. Upgrade done

Here's some food for thought. Schiit's Canadian dealer just slashed Bifrost's price from $500 to $400CAD (roughly $300 USD). Could this be the beginning of the end of sigma delta Bifrost and, perhaps, the start of a balanced Bifrost?

I'm just patiently waiting for a new multi bit generation for the Bifrost so I can upgrade. Balanced would also be a nice bonus as long as we can still upgrade current Bifrosts to it.
