Yeah, i was looking at the 55" 9500, but i ended up not getting it, i feel like i want it to be perfect when i get a OLED finally. Ive had a 9th gen Kuro till now. But i ended up getting a 2016 P series from Vizio this afternoon
Pioneer Kuro? Those are STILL some of the best tvs even compared to the best Panasonic plasmas. That Vizio is most likely a downgrade in picture quality compared to the kuro.
I definitely can relate to you deciding not to buy the oled. If I decide to put down the immense amount of cash for an oled I want it to be perfect or as close as possible to it. Oh and after looking at CNETs review and measurements of the P series, you made the right choice. I had no idea they were measuring that well. Did you get the ips or va?
Haha yeah my Kuro is very impressive, that's why I've kept it for so long. I elite Lite modded it and got it calibrated 4 years ago too. But at this point it's 8 years old, and after its 2nd trip across the pacific it's buzzing got out of hand, I couldn't watch it anymore. So it had to be replaced
Yeah I'll wait a few years for the OLEDs to be perfect and then buy one. But for now, the P series really is a great looking tv, all the reviews said it was basically the best looking LCD out this year. And it does look very good, I got the 65", which has the 120hz VA panel.
I couldn't get either of the smaller ones since the smallest is only 60hz, and once you've gotten used to watching everything at an even multiple of its native refresh rate you can't go back, and the 60" is IPS which would do for contrast, so 65" it was haha
Hahaha I was gonna write a comment being smug about how long I kept my Kuro, 8 years, but alas I'm sure I would have replaced it much sooner if something better had ever come along :/
