Ha ha, only 2 sets of tips! Cable is cheap....buuuut sound right out of the box is clear and slightly warm. I'd probably take these 35$ iems over a bunch of MSRP $400 iems. King of back-up iems, these give all other chi-fi iems a swirly.
@sphinxvc I've never tried hectobuck or kilobuck IEMs, but I think the RE-00's sound great. Clear and detailed with decent imaging. A little bit lean for my taste, but that might be addressable with tip rolling.
Yeah, the complys that come with the katana are just about right. You can ask in the noble thread on HF what those are and see if there's something just a wee bit smaller
You know, I never tried the tenores, but I think the re-00 is more like the re-zero (it's been years, though). The re-00 is supposed to have a cable that doesn't break if you look at it funny, so that plus the good timbre and detail (re-0 was a few hundred when it first came out, so it didn't start as a value iem, except in terms of SQ) make my not-super-serious claim.
I contacted Noble support RE: the Katana Comply tip sizing. They got back to me right away on a Sunday! They said they don't supply Comply tips w/the Katana's but that T500s will fit. Ordered a set to see how they do with the RE-00's. :)
