Don't make excuses for the damn thing. It's a portable DAC, it should sound good over USB.

Mojo is not anything special as it is made out to be. Yes, better tone than the hugo but resolution, texture are very limited along with certain lack of delicacy.

@zerodeefex I mean it won't play at all. It's a brick for me out of the ipod. Is it just a dac, no amp at all? That would explain my confusion.

@Kunlun it functions as a DAC/amp. Are you using the CCK?

I dont think ipods can be used as a transport, you can use a mobile phone instead.

From what I remember, iPods (pre-touch) could output a fixed line level output from the 30-pin connector but not a straight up digital signal unless it was with certain (licensed) hardware.

Ipods don't output a digital signal unless you use something like a Pure I-20 for coax/optical.
