They do have their differences and they seemingly need a little bit of adjustment period between them for me. I find that at this level, it is preferences, music presentation style, music choice. Is the 6XXB essentially a 650B? I really liked the JAR650B - I don't think it had enough punch to replace the O2 though. Complimentary.
The JAR6XXB should be equivalent to a JAR650B since they have the same drivers. I agree that the O2 have more punch and immediacy than the JARs, but I like the sweetness of the JARs and I think they do a bit better with microdynamics/plankton. I agree that it will come down to preference, they're both excellent.
You've nailed how I feel. The Genesis G. might be something to check out for another interesting flavor that I don't really hear in other phones. Enjoy your 650B! I am jealous
6XX tends to be darker than 650 IMO. The saying that they also have the same drivers is also a theory, and also I do some modification so I wouldn't say it's a 650.
The JAR6XX V1/ A version is my second favorite of the JAR. The mods seem to pair slightly better with the 6XX than the 650, but still both great. https://i.imgur.com/4Lcf3YG.jpg
